If you’re concerned invest the $5k in something liquid and make some interest on it.  Chances are very good you will never spend it.  $5k should go a long ways towards a re-build in the unlikely event it occurs.  

I know I would pass too.  As sksman said, when xx year warranty is included in the price for snow check, it’s an easier thing to come to terms with, but for sure paying more upfront….or they offer a few different things for you to pick from I.e. warranty, cash in pocket, track, etc… buying non current has its pros and cons, but usually more pros than cons, like less money forked out!

I am leaning towards taking a pass on it. The leftovers all seem to come with a one year. Hard for me to lay down that kind of money for a what if scenerio. Here is a screen shot of pricing for the 650 we picked up yesterday. It is less than the price for the 850 we bought last year. 

I think the extended warranty is cheaper when purchased at time of sale.  Or if you snow check.     $5,000 would cover a fair bit of the snowcheck price gap      My 2022 850 has 6,560km on it and runs strong.  No issues.   Its now my spare sled so only gets minimal miles  I still have extended warranty for one more season but am not worried about it.      

From all I’ve seen, the poo 600 and 800 series motors are solid.  warranty will not cover wear parts.  Perhaps rather than spending that money on warranty, spend that money on a freshen up when the time comes at 5000 or whatever thousand miles would be the recommended interval.  otherwise I think the warranty would be a nice resale item if you were to sell sled in a couple of years, but at $5k now, not so sure that is good money being spent…better to have a longer warranty included in buying price for that to make sense, but sleds are being priced I’m sure to get them out the door, so already really low with less included.
