The Provincial and Federal Govs need to figure their own sh!t out, that statement coming from a politician is almost like a homeless guy telling me how I could better mop my kitchen floor while I toss a tooney in his gold plated cup.  lmao      Sleddings main ingredient is uncontrollable weather, the other ingredients, landowners, volunteers and permit buyers all need the economy to be healthy and legislation to be realistic to comfortably participate. Don't get me wrong, I certainly appreciate the $$ injection, that in the end helps everyone more than it helps sledders. But don't throw stones when your house has bigger windows.  

Positives absolutely. Timing is probably the only real drawback - but late is better than never!   Biggest thing now -like I have said before - will be curious to see what the "plan" is - because status quo will not work - funding top ups are not guaranteed - so where do we go from here?    

I agree and it seems with this $$ and increase in sales, this year is turning the corner, at least mentally for many, will some trails open and some not, no doubt, but that’s normal year to year based on weather amongst other things.  Lack of money shouldn’t be an excuse for a trail not looked after - will there be the manpower though to keep things in good shape - tbd I guess given the other non financial issues.  hopefully if there is money left on the table it can be directed towards infrastructure projects dealt with in the spring/summer.  at the end of the day, there are positives to focus on, but people need to set realistic expectation at this point given the change, focus on what can improve moving ahead and enjoy the season. 

At the end of the day this is truly excellent news for all of us and yet another reason why Doug Ford is our guy. Yes he runs a very small C conservative camp but he is still a conservative with more common sense than not. Wynne and the Liberals would have joyfully hammered the nails in all of our coffins to see this sport come to a crashing end so be thankful is how I see it. Its more good than bad, a lot more good. Its also a huge signal that the future of sledding is alive and well.   I feel for you guys on the back and forth though, that has to be demoralizing and all I can say which is all any of us can say is we appreciate all you volunteers tremendously. I was a LUP for many years and I did my share of trail cutting and maintenance when i was young enough to do it. Cant say I ever had the privilege of signing, removing, then resigning at the 11th hour though. OFSC owes you guys a bottle of whiskey for that one

the funding is supposed to re-establish the closed trails.  I agree with the above that at this point in the season - the majority of them that were de-commissioned, closed, signs down, see ya - aren't coming back this season. It's not reasonable to believe they will.   so.......with that in mind, where is this money going to go? Can it be held in a trust and set aside to assist for next season when all the work can be done to bring these trails back?   I have a very sneaky suspicion we are going to see few of the de-commissioned trails resume - and we'll be sitting here reading again next year about no money left.
