I have had no issues with the service department of my large BRP dealer, made appointment, went shopping, returned, loaded sled and went home.
You can't make a blanket statement about 'service isn't that great' because you had a bad experience.
sure miss the old dealers where you could walk in, guy at the counter had grease all over his hands, could smell 2 stroke in the air, and they had every part you needed in a random box somewhere.
way too boutique these days.
Brp wants these big dealers and service isn't that great. I called brp dealer last year and asked them if I could make an appointment to service sled. They told me no appoinment needed just drop it off it be ready in a few days. When I went to drop it off about 80 people were told the same thing. Shame on dealer I never bring it back without an appoinment.
The days of brining a sled in on Monday and getting it back by Friday are long gone. They didn't even have a common relay that 900 aces take. Had to order one in took over a week 😂.
Not enough money to be made - by either of them.
The real downside of course is service, local and timely service, as the available dealers decrease.
If you have an issue - you're losing a week to 2 or more riding time waiting on parts etc.:
That is the part that really sucks
I see that Gateway Powersports in Peterborough area announced they are closing in Aug/26. That tells me that they got "the letter" from BRP saying that their dealer agreement is not being renewed.
More dealers closing than opening thats for sure.
