FishHog
Were going to head out from Strathroy area on Sat and head north for an overnight trip. I'm thinking we will make it somewhere in the area of Kincardine/Port Elgin/Mount Forest, but just winging it as we go depending on trails. Are there any suggested motels on the trails in this area that I should target for? Just don't want to find us not around a place to stay after a long day. thanks, FishHog
ecarnell
Haven't stayed at the new holiday inn at kincardine - but it is just off the trail with a BP and esso as stones throw away. Wouldn't think it would be busy unless there is a hockey tournament in town(I would call and check). Never been into downtown port Elgin to see how close the trail runs to them and never looked for a hotel in mt.'forest so I can't comment. Faceman
There is a spur trail at the south end of Port that will direct you to the Super 8. Not hard, gas and food close by. Mt Forest..is Pike Lake open?Nice spot if open The Homestead in Durham or Varney Motel

Thankx!!! Are you sure you didn't mean Briars? It is an upscale Golf & Country Club. Pretty pricey, I think. The only think I can think of is a little ways away at the mouth of the Pefferlaw River called the Peninsula. They have a restaurant there as well. It is about 15 - 20 minutes riding the lake from Jackson's Point. PM me if you need more info.

Hi sledder2, so the Travellers Inn is easily accesible by bile now? The wife and I want to do an overnighter with a casino nearby next week and this sounds like a good destination but I am not familiar with the town.
