Fenelon Falls, Minden, Haliburton Loop

Feb 23,2019 Excellent day for a ride, with an early start of 11am. Since HOO trails closed up today I trailered my sled to Fenelon Falls and parked at the Superior Gas lot. Impressive and large lot to park with map board and a portapotty. I got my gear on and headed north on the B103 and taking a side trail. I found all the trails in the Kawartha Lakes club were in excellent shape. I have not ridden the rail bed to Haliburton in many years and I never realized the large number of stops along the way for roads and driveways. I decided to travel to Minden first on B112 and stopped at the fairgound to watch some ice racing and there was also the IRL winter driving course teaching drivers on how to drive on ice.

I rode on the #4 trail north and found it in good condition but because its a lot of road running I would not recommend riding once it warms up. Up to this point I seen many many riders out on the trails so its now 3pm and number of riders have disappeared while traveling east on the B trail. Once I arrived in Haliburton the number of sleds increased again and trails are starting to get bumpy. Traveling south on the B103 was getting rough until I came across the groomer tracks and I hoped they would be groomed to Kinmount. No luck as around the next bend I saw the groomer so I have about a kilometer of groomed trail. I took my time traveling back to my truck and had waved on several riders pass me as they were in more of a hurry than I. Overall 165km of beautiful trails and no incidents except for my truck's air suspension failed again.

very similar to the ride I did on Tuesday except we started in Port Perry. The trail over to Minden was rough on Tuesday.

Looked like you had a good day.

Dodge truck??

Yes,

I take to dealership and they can't find anything wrong because it starts to work before I get it in for service. This has been happening since mid January.

Such a pain when that happens intermittent problems.

Thanks for the report -  I am up and down Lake Ridge Road fairly frequently and in that area, never seems to be enough snow for decent riding or water running all over the place- have to look further east in the area keeping in mind the parking lot and access you describe. :wavey:
