  1. George still there? Maybe if you call and ask him if you can park for day and throw him 10 dollars he probabily wouldn’t mind, unless it is full of trucks and trailers for weekend. Maybe soup has another idea.
  2. Time to get red Ferrari out of garage and see how many gold diggers I can pick up tomorrow. So you getting another car this spring?
  3. Go check out hsa site. Another close incident of riders riding closed trails. Hope no one gets hurt riding trail 15 or that might be end of snowmobile trail use on some trails there. Can’t fix stupid! Nothing like riding thru an active blast site and living to tell about it. That could have turned bad real quick.
  4. Too bad. I can’t leave until the following week, but I am flexible for rest of March. Maybe next year. I keep you in mind since I do get several block weeks thru winter that I can be flexible too.
  5. Hailburton said they were going to do an update on map today. So maybe some other options will be open for you if you start farther north. Cross your fingers!
  6. When you looking to go? I have been to north several times and see no reason to use a tour company if you can get a few experienced riders together.
  7. True but you can’t take your stuff and cash to heaven either.
  8. Great a new free ride park. Too bad it is so far north for most families to take advantage of. Guess they don’t have much to loose in way of lability law suit either.
  9. Try market place. Sold mine on their no problem. Good luck!
  10. Wait and see. Really tough call a few days out but mild weather they seem to be able to predict well, along with you know what. another polish sled weekend I suppose as they claim we are set to break many records. That is never good news. Maybe we will get a blizzard this time around.
  11. Just seen one four stroke doo this. The engine was a right off Apparantly happened so fast on a lake run, engine was toast before warning code came up. It was a 2011, 1200 doo. I think new sleds are much smarter and more protection in them, but wierd things can still happen occasionally, especially in extreme circumstances like Dennis pointed out.
  12. If water pump fails the sled can over heat in a hurry and not throw a warning code. Rare but does happen from time to time.
  13. Oh come on Yamaha fan. All manufactures have trouble and when a four stroke breaks sled is a write off. Way less likely then a two stroke but you can still over heat a four stroke easily and damage motor on a sled.
  14. We had the same thing happen to a Mach z, years ago. We cut trip short and my friend paid his uncle for half repairs. It was only one cylinder and position and rings. Crank was fine. So I think half would be fair and he gets a rebuilt motor with a warranty. Good luck. Then you get to borrow sled again under good terms.
  15. Not sure how government is going to regulate it, if it even passes. Pretty sure it will have some sort of boundary limitations that need to be posted though. Wait and see. Could be a couple of years yet even if it does go thru.
  16. They will apply to snowmobilers no doubt. How big of a zone around farm buildings that have live stock remains to be seen. This zone will have to be clearly posted too. Most likely a certain radius around building. 15 meters or something like that. We have zones now for bio security which is 15 meters (called called caz (controlled access zone) Probabily won’t be any where near a trail but if a person trespasses and goes near or into zone then new rules will apply, if the government passes them. wait and see.
  17. I have been stopped in hailburton on railway line b103 coming into town. Also in mattawa area by police officers in a patrol vehicle where trail comes out before and after river. (2 officers on either side of river using radio’s. I think vehicle has a camera too, so they get plate of sled very easily when you come out of trail. I asked and he said compliance was very good in area. Other then that haven’t been stopped much. At home they use to patrol power line out of new Hamburg and near st clements club house. But not much snow last few years to get some riding in. Out there but not necessarily all day. After a few hours if they aren’t seeing any issues, they most likely leave.
  18. X2. No one wants to get wet on a long ride in middle of no where. That is no fun and could turn tragic real fast.
  19. Yes just opp don’t have resources to do this. It might be too late to save trail after an incidence happens. Being proactive is much better approach. I am sure ofsc is working hard on this and government is coming up with new farm land fines that start at 15,000 and relate strictly to farm animals and live stock. So if a sledders goes and scares a horse on thier snowmobile and is convicted they will most likely be fined 15 g’s for a first offence. Once new fines become law hopefully the ofsc will advertise the fines. I know catching people is a problem on its own and we going to need some enforcement to get people to comply.
  20. Maybe making every permit holder volunteer for a few weekends a year would be better. Only volunteers are eligible for Early permit price and rebate it back after volunteer sessions are filled.
  21. Ahhhhhhh! Well good luck to you either way. Cheers, hope to read your singhampton reports in a few weeks.
  22. Hahah. I think it is your turn now. Not ready to leave sport yet, even if I get zero km’s this season. Won’t be first and won’t be last. I use sled around farm so not costing me much to keep it.
  23. Hailburton got around 5” too I was told. Hopefully mild weather later in week doesn’t do much damage.
  24. I already scarified one. Should have sold newer one though.
  25. I agree but maybe there is a way to work together and reduce liability and insurance rates for both parties. There is power in numbers. Ofsc has done allot of good things it seems, in reguards to libabilty and insurance last several seasons. So I am optimistic this will get worked out for longer term, in near future. Wait and see it will take time for sure. Prey for snow.
