  1. Why not look at some newer technology. I looked at older corvettes for years. Then I decided maybe it is just better to get a new one. I got a 2017 convertible with z51 race engine. Dealer knocked of almost 30 k off price too, since it was in show room for 16 months and they wanted to move it.
  2. I never knew about creek since I usually stay at moose horn anyway. Great heads up though. I usually jump on lake at moose horn and follow it back out to un plowed road. Short cut allows me to go from halfway to Indian reserve without going into chapleau for fuel, which saves even more time.
  3. Yup a good tease with that storm but snow doesn’t last long around here lately. If we had temps below zero and no thaws we be up to our arm pits in white gold now.
  4. The road is mostly a non maintaince road, not a busy highway. Maybe have a dozen people including moose horn use 2 km plowed section. I have used it every time, I am in area and have never even seen a car on it. Saves 18 km’s off trip which is significant. Owner of moose horn told me about some logging road I could take from Sudbury area to get there in a vehicle. Now that sounds like a dangerous adventure.
  5. Those 340’s with 137 track and steel rack on back. Where a great sled. Great for sugar bush no doubt.
  6. If you look at map and take Shepard moose road when you hit it. C101D makes a sharp turn there. The road is un plowed most of the way goes right by moose horn lodge. Road is only plowed for 2 km’s from moose horn to main highway. I rode it fourth week of March and plowed section still had lots of snow on it. Saves about 18 km’s and 20 or so mins off your day. The road is pretty quick and there is always a highway of trucks down the middle. Once you hit end of road the main trail is right there. Great short cut. Moose horn lodge has cleared the hydro line so you can ride that if road is bad.
  7. That is too bad. That d201F really needs some government funding to improve that key trail. Elliot lake is a great drop point for me too coming from south. Going to hurt black creek, Aubrey falls and half way no doubt.
  8. See this happened today too! From hcsa site. Be careful and slow down out there.
  9. I can see my lawn again here. Rain killed it here. Don’t think we will get started here this winter. Longer days and stronger sun are coming.
  10. Which groomer broke? Flat tire or some other issue? Hopefully they can re cover it some how!
  11. What is base like around you now. We lost about 80 percent of snow around here in last 30 hours. Still raining abit now too.
  12. I get shavings from Quebec and local trucker that lives there usually delivery’s to me. A few years ago, I got a delivery third week of April, and he told me they still had four feet of snow and trails still good. I couldn’t believe it, but Quebec is a different world, no doubt. Good luck!
  13. Gen 4 is a nice handling sled. I loved the xr. Body style. Just sold 2012 xr with 600 etec in fall. Now I just have Xs in 900 like you, but a long track with air suspension. I just don’t like lack of storage on new grand touring’s, so keep mine forever now.
  14. Yeah too bad. You could still go and end up over at Bruce mines area for a night. Not sure if still logging on d106 though. Trish at Dunlop was always good to us too. Great spot no doubt, hopefully it re opens next year or old F trail would be nice.
  15. Yeah may as well drive to Timmins now. Same distance as the soo. Can still do the big loop that way!
  16. Hopefully that is case. An ice base would be durable if it sets up that way. Good luck and let us know how trails survive!
  17. They were pretty good to us and asked us what time we wanted breakfast. Fast and efficient and food is all homemade. They cater to sledders. Valentines or how you spell it is good too but have to go into town and no restaurant there but a shuttle, so even more time gets wasted.
  18. Looks good! Moose horn lodge in chapleau is a nice place to stay and is easy to access for snowmobilers. Food was amazing there too. If you fill up at halfway you can make it to Indian reserve, without having to go into chapleau for fuel. Indian reserve is just other side of chapleau and trail goes right by fuel station. Can’t miss it. Good luck.
  19. I am deleting my post since I made an educated guess with above information,. We will let ofsc sort this out and should be no more comments unless it is actually facts. I think admin should lock this post. It is right thing to do! thank-you!
  20. Haliburton area would be fine. Calling for 25 cm’s up three,
  21. Getting bad no doubt. What happens if private individual land owners start thinking the same way after they read all of this. This is not good at all and mothership needs to turn this around before it crashes into a big ice berg and sinks for good!
  22. Calling for rain here in Kitchener again. That will be end of base we have I think. Hopefully central ontario misses rain this time.
  23. Yes I can see that being a big problem for next year, volunteer burn out after all this! I feel sorry for hard working clubs and volunteers! Many had to go out and get new permission and to re clear land to setup reroutes around affected area’s that got shut down. Thank you to those involved for giving us best possible trails in each area, this winter.
  24. Something doesn’t seem right. This stuff always seems to happen at worst possible time. Hopefully it doesn’t affect permit sales next season. Wait and see.
