  1. Ya, ours has been good too, very comfortable and great ride....we have around 12K though - I guess your daughter does not drive much! Had the option of 5.7 or 3.6 - opted for the 3.6 since it is not used for anything towing related and the refined 3.6 with the 8-speed tranny performs very well IMO.
  2. How is the Jeep GC L? We bought a 2024 this past summer, so far pretty good. Lots of great “free” advice right here on this forum…whether you asked for it or not…lol
  3. We ran into a group of guys last year on the larger northern loop we did, I do not recall which stop it was we met up with them at, but they came from and did a more southern loop as well like your run, but do not think it included over to Mt Valin and the St Lawrence, I know they said the southern portion was pretty bad - but last year was a bad year as we all know, even in QC.....this year will be great though!
  4. That looks like a big one! I see no Relais 22 stop....taking the south trail instead.
  5. LOL - I have had zero issues with safety and not running studs, sure you adjust your riding knowing you do not have them, but honestly, until you do not run them, you realize how you do not need them most times, depending where and how you ride. I am adding them for traction while accelerating - rode a buddies 900T-R last year with studs and I was surprised at the difference I felt with his sled under acceleration, but that was it, so figured, why not try them, it is only some money and time..... Your boy must be old enough now to consider some short trips with him, maybe a run from Vernon up to Sudbury for an overnight, or something like that.
  6. @stonehaven has a cottage nearby if I am not mistaken, so he might have a better idea. Looking at the MTH webcam, there is snow, but does not look like new stuff or a lot of it.....
  7. So, some have eluded to some plans already booked for this season - lets hear about the details or potential details? Looking like a Gaspe loop for me this year (finally), end of Feb if all goes well..... I am really not sure what else other than maybe a few day rides here or there during the week is my guess, if trails/conditions permit.....most weekends, and many weeknights during the week are spent at the rink. Few plans for my sled this year as well - knee pads from Sledaddicz, downpipe, going to try my Curve skis on the Doo to see how they are on this chassis (worked great on my CAT), new BRP ice scratchers (the ones that get installed on the rails at the front) and I decided to stud my track this year....been a while since I have ran studs......
  8. Like all I am sure, I always wish I got out more, but happy with what I did do that season. Regret not venturing into QC earlier than I did to ride. I miss the group I used to ride with that would all start at a buddies house on Simcoe in Keswick and head north Fri for a weekend of riding and fun at one of two buddies Muskoka cottages for the weekend......it was almost always an adventure running the trails from just north of Orillia to D103B/B trail. I also miss doing short loops and runs in and around Simcoe, especially on the West side, riding to Georgian downs for some gambling, etc.... It was crazy how quick you would put on the miles each year when you lived so close to the trails and a lake you could ride on and from.
  9. LOL, and that was from a couple of days ago. Snowmobile Trails – Main Trails Open – Worse than Poor – Stay off of them until we get more snow. Updated Sunday December 31, 2024 at 10:45 am
  10. Hopefully when we book shortly, we are lucky enough to find what we need or adjust some things to make it work!
  11. Funny talking about happy to have or view Feb as the sled season - true though in todays world! I like the positive spin / outlook
  12. Well then in that case, "we" need to tighten those loan restrictions some more to mitigate the collateral damage by those with that mindset....if you cannot be responsible, then sadly someone else will need to be for you......and people wonder why outside bodies need to make decisions for you. Me, I could not make financial decisions that I am not comfortable with and only think of the me, me mentality.....regardless of how short life might end up being. Anyways, sorry for the sidetrack. Those new 858 Cats might be worth a whole lot less now too - readings some articles yesterday of potential major engine design flaw with the cranks being out of spec, not even able to be machined to get in spec. It is the internet and could be all over hyped, but man would that not just totally suck and add more salt to the wound.
  13. Good to hear lodgings are booking up and / or full......unless you are looking for a place that is!
  14. You pay a fortune to fight it in court that takes a year or more and reflect that it is a waste of time and money...so do your due diligence to avoid it....lol
  15. CC is likely the one that would be more common - but if the Mortgage default numbers are higher, that would be a major indicator of how bad it might be rather than possible toys not moving. On the second, likely never to know as I do not think anyone would officially share that info.....but I agree. On another mindset of this, had a discussion over the holidays about how many "high end" cars are on the road these days around us - which reminded of a friend that bought a X5 a few months ago after the first person that was looking to buy it could apparently not get approvals on two loans in order to buy it (not that I sure that info was supposed to be shared)
  16. Odd, my brother sent me a picture Dec 27 on his property in NB and they had what looked like a foot of snow and stating trails were groomed, not sure about open - but I know our weather since then has been crap, maybe there too....
  17. Anyone have hard data on credit card and mortgage defaults in Canada as of late? Just for perspective since it obviously will paint a better picture of the financial state. Also wondering how busy things will be this year for bookings, restaurants, traffic, etc......will be booking lodging soon for a Feb trip so I guess we will see. Not to try and get this topic off track of course....
  18. Was that not the year they invoked health centre boundaries due to the “situation”? I think that was our last good winter around here and same thing, most km were in QC ever since.
  19. Looos like Jan 8 will see a deep, deep freeze….
  20. 👍 How are the trails looking otherwise with water and downed trees/branches?
  21. Hopefully overkill with the emergency services and not that bad. How was your ride - conditions and other riders being respectful?
  22. Maybe they need to explore SSM for potential sales to be had!
  23. A lot better than it was though. with the holiday season here I’m sure many are focused on other things and maybe not totally updated with up to date info….and perhaps still some signatures to get, that may or may not happen.
  24. Just came across this and don’t think I’ve seen an update shared. During a December 16 council meeting, the District of Muskoka decided to enter into an agreement with the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) that would allow snowmobiling on district-owned land. https://cottagelife.com/general/after-some-initial-concerns-muskoka-has-agreed-to-let-snowmobilers-drive-on-district-owned-land/
  25. Safest bet is to stick to the local trails once they open and enjoy the open fields 👍.
