See, all circles back to the DESSđ. Just kidding though. âŚ

I recall the starters were problematic on the Cats - my old sled had one, it did the same thing, thought it was a battery and just went and bought a new one, but nope, it was the starter. They are a PITA to get too and work on, so I never replaced it, pulling the sled over was not an issue for me, having a starter that worked was just a bonus, that I never got to enjoy.

Thanks for sharing and wishing you a successful road to recovery. Another thing I frequently use ladders for are trimming my trees, doesnât take much for this to happen. 20 feet doesnât sound like much, but it is on a ladder while handling a saw. I have one tree that needs to come down, but Iâll be renting a boom lift for that one when Iâm ready.
-
That sucks to hear - hopefully you will be able to fully recover. Do you mind me asking the details surrounding the fall and the injury? Was it a far fall or just the way you landed or what you landed on perhaps. I am up and down a ladder at home fairly often doing various things - could always have a fall myself that could be worse than you expect.

I am sure others would be more than happy to go buy skis to get there unit on the snow. Manufacture could offer an in store credit for the missing skis though in light of the situation and the part that is missing - not like a shock or gauge.
-
Cannot see you getting your sled unless it is complete. The only part that I have read about where a dealer released a sled is with different skis that what was supposed to be on it. Not saying it has not happened elsewhere of course though. Dealing with any distributor or manufacture in the last 12+ months, is the same for all. Other than missing or not getting parts, the new standard is where the price would normally be held at the old prices based on PO issued / quoted project, I am seeing price increases based on product delivered due to delays and increases "out of their control" - yes, most times I fight it and win, but not always. As for prices coming down after this is ever over, highly unlikely, but what you will see is more incentives or promotions in lieu of decreased prices - this is what I am hearing across the board as well. No one is getting anything from any manufacture as a result of this, other than frustrations. Challenging & frustrating times no doubt.

Yes, but doing a good deed now could become a hassle for you in the messed world we live in - sad. Still more to this story than a "thanks" though.
-
I cannot complain with the dealer I have used - have not had any issues other than the guys that installed my glove box, it worked, just not the "correct" way...... Price was decent, received sled sooner than I honestly expected, received my B/O parts sooner than I expected, received my "free" post lock and received discounts on other parts that I bought.
-
So it is true..... And the dealer could play games with its clients based on when a sled is ready vs. who you are to them.
-
Some seem to think and share that the dealer decides on who get the VIN once sleds arrives at said dealer - which I find hard to believe and not accurate info at all - perhaps some shady dealers might try this, no idea.....

Has anyone heard about trail grooming in Muskoka?

LOL....can't think that way, it will drive you nuts. Should be no reason lake running is not doable until the trails are set - I know also not the greatest, but better than nothing. -

I am thinking you might need to reconsider that - district 7 looks to be an issue right now....but that might change in a few days. -

This is what makes trips so worth it - but I get it, not for everyone either. I think if it came to it and all I could do was trips, I would still be doing it - but I also enjoy the local'ish day rides too. -
Iâm not overly familiar with Poo so not sure what system they use, but Iassume they didnât change there throttle control, so might be a bad switch, harness or maybe throttle cable adjusted too tight causing this. Cable adjustment would be best case, otherwise dealing with possibly parts shortage to correct. Those that already have their units, I agree, itâs wouldnât be a huge deal for me, but new units not delivered, dealers canât release.

This is good to hear that it is in fact being pushed at the OFSC level. Agree about the percentages as well & many people would rather see the resources fighting far worse things vs. us lowly sledders - but this is the agreement that was made, so I wonder what that two way discussion looks like & the rational for not using harsher fines. Even if the enforcement/presence is not increased, what is the rational of not making the fines for those caught breaking the rules A LOT more harsh - that can be used a much better tool to deter people from doing it. Did the MTO not just adopt the rules & fines set by the OFSC beforehand, if so, I would think changing/updating them now could be possible with the pressure coming from the OFSC based on submitting reasons that justify the change? Like anything else, change needs to start from within no doubt.....more that buy in, will make an impact. But the fine or penalty needs to match the infraction - right now it does not. -

The thing with trespass is this falls into two categories that should be dealt with differently (I think). There is riding on a trail that is listed as closed - sometimes trail closes during a trip, etc...., or technical glitch on the system, etc.... Than there is knowingly riding off trail that is on private land i.e. farm field with crop or land owner that does not want sleds on that portion of land, etc.... -

I am wondering how hard this is being pushed by the OFSC as well.....
