  1. Her French is not good enough to function well in debates. Agree with your suggestion though. The Tories should have kept her over from being interim leader instead they got a circus with Kevin O'Leary and the other guy whose party later didn't win a seat (can't be bothered to look up his name) and got stuck with holy boy Scheer.

    Helmets.

They seem to be hard to find but there are very thin but warm snowboarder's balaclavas - Hot Chile and Garneau - work very well for warmth without bulk and collect the sweat from your head and are easily washed - saves some helmet maintenance.
  3. Klim fusion - two settings in one glove - grip and warm. Works great as your brake hand is usually colder and you can set up that glove for warm setting, while grip setting for throttle hand which is generally resting more on the handlebar heater and thumb warmer. Excellent flexibility. Pricey though.
  4. Before you get started on this season, remove the wheels and take off that decorative cap in the center. If not, you will have to remove the wheels anyway to access the easylube grease nipple. Saves some time and less of a disincentive to get it done. You may already have done this...
  5. I had a pretty good experience with Action Trailer - I knew exactly what I wanted, they had one in stock in a week, made a down payment over the phone and arranged with a small extra fee to pay the entire amount by Visa to get a few travel miles. I think I was dealing with the owner. Fellow in the yard helped me hook it up, and gave me some useful advice that the side door had to be securely locked by law. Lights and everything worked. After I had the trailer home for a few days, the license plate showed up by courier - the only hitch in the process - they forgot to put it on. I had Blake providing some guidance on the trailer as a result of his keen appraisal at the sled show. The front door no longer appears on the Bullit 7 X 16 models which to me is a shame as I use mine quite frequently. Over 10,000 kilometers on it without a problem, rust, wear or corrosion. As for parts, there seems to be only two main manufacturers of axles - Dexter and Lippert - so I am not too stressed about parts which are commonly available from several sources (in normal times) I found that a standard hub and bearings from a previously owned trailer would fit and work well in case bearings went at some point on the road. Of course those with braking systems etc. probably might have a harder time with parts and having a reliable dealer around would be helpful.
  6. Thanks UTS - I was actually being sincere when I mentioned if you had any advice about air filtering systems etc. My (other) brother's dental practice had to get these individual machines - one for each operatory and those rooms are sealed in plastic walls. Alone and lying back in the chair waiting for freezing to take effect, I "let one go" - machine made a squawk, yellow light went on and than went back to blue after a brief period of increased effort. Bunch of numbers appeared, but had my glasses off...machine seemed pretty sensitive! For those who may have allergies etc. something like that might come in handy while isolated in a home. My apologies to 700king q. I am still pretty stiffed at the covid related passing away of a long time and very helpful member of this forum. RIP sled junk.
  7. ? stupid Scared has nothing to do with this - it is strength of character .....as no one can be 100% sure they are not carrying the virus, it is staying home and keeping minimal contact with people so that others are not infected. (including yourself if that feeds your self entitled nature)
  8. Good work gobills! Hope they update the info on the web site. Will remember for next year.
  9. Maybe you should follow my brother and spouse around for a day...front line workers. And this Summit news quote looks really credible. Masks are useless.. great news! ...I guess they can work in operating rooms without them now...I'm sure your advice will be appreciated as they won't need the extra O.R .nurse to wipe brows or handle instruments...wow...you guys are money savers! Just close your eyes and imagine your lungs filling with water....that's it...filling with water....calm....calm...calm.... UTS - how about some advice geared on something you know about....keeping a good supply of clean air in your house or office...good filters available? Air exchanges? Hey insurance guy...any thing we should be looking into during these risky times?
  10. Situation: virus is spread through human contact in aerosal form Main and only goal: stop the spread of virus Result: keep people apart Best Method: lockdown All other arguments - percentage of those who die, mental health issues, socio economic factors (social justice crap), divorce rates, economy, your loss of "rights", your perceived "loss of rights", your entitlements or those of anyone else, blah, blah, blah, etc. simply do not apply as they are: Goal achievement adverse. There are a multitude of medical experts whose knowledge is up to date - comparing the effects of sars to covid19?? not even close...FFS.. come on. - they are on this new thing called television. Look them up. Looking forward to all the constitutional challenges.
  11. Looks like he is out of my Public Health Unit regional zone and a search for last name "Guy" on the OFSC site turns up nothing. ah well....gotta tax my brain now for some other idea... BTW - it seems like all the weather is a month behind...October in November, November in December, December in January, so there is probably plenty of season left in February, March, and if you're willing to travel April.
  12. What prompted the breathalizer is my question....been stopped a few times and never had that happen. Fellas maintain they weren't drinking so what brought it on?
  13. And so are you. They should just call it a "place holder" or something like that. It does solve a problem for those waiting for VIN #'s etc. though for which there was some concern in the past. But you know...I don't know how many times I've thought to myself....hey!....STG's birthday is coming up....February 14...he has contributed much to this forum ...although not much lately...and been an inspiration to many...living on a fixed income back in the woods where he can't even get his driveway ploughed out....maybe as a nice gesture I should buy him an OFSC trail pass gift card this year....WELL so much for that...I don't know his effen VIN number or postal code....and to ask would spoil the surprise....
  14. Sorry for the confusion...next riding over....Randy Hillier (Lanark—Frontenac—Kingston) Before the 2018 election, Baber was a lawyer, primarily in the areas of insurance and commercial litigation, and is not a medical professional. Probably caved in to his campaign donors. Outline of story: https://globalnews.ca/news/7578229/roman-baber-ontario-mpp-lockdown-coronavirus-letter-doug-ford/
  15. What kind of a GIFT CARD is that? FFS Back to the cheese shop for Valentine's Day gift I guess.
  16. No, it's kind of a regular place, not fancy at all. Reminds me of the one that was in Garson when I was a youngster. ( with the Export A highland lassie reigning at the far end) You have to take into account that the curling (generally and usually) begins in September, early October and goes into May or June sometimes. They are losing a lot of income from not being able to rent out facilities.
  17. Because he has made up most of his "facts" - his assertions were deemed b.s. soon after his "information" was released. Now, if the PC's will just get rid of that whack job from around St. Catharines - Niagara Falls way, that should clear the deck for them. The guy out Haldimand riding way is gone already.
  18. No refund...same as sledding with the yearly expenses just to get started - curling club building, taxes, insurance, ice making plant machinery....etc. etc. etc.
  19. -ms slomo's yearly curling club fee - $750.00 bought in August (while some people ended up curling during the season, she did not due to the pandemic - scientific vagaries of air containing droplets over an ice surface and being too close to others in older facility with no air exchange) -fancy broom - don't ask -insulated curling shoes - don't ask -sport specific curling attire - don't ask -losers buy winners of game beer after game - don't ask -contributions to various club fund raisers - don't ask....
