Anyone have any cool old sleds they want to share?

I have a 72' Ski Doo Olympic in Mint condition:

What size is it? My father had a '73 or '74 like that w/ the 335 cc single in it.

Does a '81 Elan count? Only OEM change from earlier models is the Mikuni VM28 carb as opposed to the Tillotson.

Nice looking sled! Is that the model that the dealers cut a series of 1 inch diameter holes up the left hand side (looking from the front) for cooling?

A buddy of mine had one of those when we were in high school and we spent a number of days riding together.

I loved the old Merc's. Think I saw a couple of these in Kincardine 2 winters ago when Rick Mercer was there?

If the guy that styled the RV chassis's plastic is still alive, he must shake his head @ BRP's efforts w/ the XP & XS chassis. IMO, the RV was 1 of the nicest looking sleds around. I have to wonder what they've been smoking when the came up w/ their latest designs.

Yes it is, but It doesn't do to much for cooling though, any day over -1 it overheats... lol

Back on the snow

This was probably a fairly simple job to some sleds that have been restored. The rear of the tunnel & the seat were probably the only real weak areas. Everything else was pretty solid.

Lived up in the Sault then so it was a little colder  Shortly after he got the sled, the dealer recalled it and it came back with the holes. Always thought that they hurt the look of it.

I was never aware of that recall. Mother had a '71 300 Oly & Dad had the '73 or '74. Never got the recall or maybe it didn't apply to those models/years. Can you post a pic of the modified hood?

The one in the pic came from Mount Forest about 3 yrs ago. An older gentleman bought it when he retired because he had owned one new and wanted something to work on in retirement. He spent a lot of money on parts and accessories from Image and got out once on it, then had a heart attack and died. I bought it from his wife when she was settling his estate. For a vintage rider the Trail-Twister is hard to beat as the Kohler motors are reasonably reliable, other than the Prestolite ignition, and they handle quite well. The 76 Sno-Twister is pretty much useless in any amount of snow but great fun on hardpack and I never get tired of looking at it. :)
