If asked, seller has a statutory obligation to disclose if there is a lien on it.  

100% - I would not finalize it without doing it. I used ISB Global last time I needed to do it.  

Does the MTO do lien checks? They do not have used vehicle packages for snowmobiles in Ontario. Sellers aren't required to provide anything. They should be providing an original signed off registration (after you've paid for the sled).  There are online sources to have lien checks done.

For you guys buying used private sleds. Are you doing a lien search before paying for unit. Call mto with vin number or does seller have to provide documentation?  Thank-you! Different times now. I just don't want to find out when I go to register it, it has a lien on it 🤣
