People like to dress their sled up, add something different, support a certain cause i.e. business, charity, club.....
Look at those that wrap a sled, some are quite extensive & some are quite small - Or you have POO who has given the rider so many choices to customize your sled from the factory with all the colour options, just to be more personalized.
Some are into it and some are not - good to have options.
Same for the license sticker - I try to remove the old before applying the new one in the same spot.
I find WD40 has worked better for me though - spray a rag, let it sit on sticker and then remove residue.
The whole idea of using one of these to transfer a permit, I get it, people will always make poor choices, you cannot stop stupid.....I would like to think the number of people that sled and would consider this, are just a "fringe minority".....lol.
The ones I designed and had printed up for our club back in the mid 00s were just a frame sticker around the permit. The reason I designed it that way was so it couldn't be misused, knowing some people would transfer them sled to sled and although likely small, it would still have the potential to take away funds from the trail system. We sold a ton of them for about 6 years. After that Doodette made up some for Kelly Shires and PET, they did well too (just noticed my profile pic is still of my 13 600 and rocking a PET permit wrap lol). They also were just a frame sticker that went around the permit.
All could easily find was this prototype of the first one (note the permit size and shape, I think that was around 06-07 ? lol ) The final production ones had much more stout outer border. They were made so well that you could easily salvage the wrap when taking the permit off and putting the new one on, we had to change designs to make people want to buy the latest greatest lol
