satrat
here in district 17 we have a 2 step approach to thieves first off is 2 very large german shepards, second is a fully stocked gun safe. for the last 4 years the dogs have kept honest people honest even the mnr game warden avoids my yard could be because the dogs will eat the plastic skis off the sled before you get 20 feet (a-hos) but could also be that some people dont like big dogs

02Sled
That's for sure. Never had a sled stolen before. Have had my spare drive belt and plugs taken before. Now I take everything out including the cheap tool kit. I just noticed not long ago that the spare belt on my wife's sled sprouted legs. It's always in an enclosed trailer so it has to have happened when we were stopped for lunch. #$%^ thieves... If you can afford a sled buy your own belt. There was a time when people rarely locked the doors on their house. Now if it isn't bolted down it walks and even then it may still walk. I have lost a prop off my boat, they had to go swimming to get it, a floor jack from the tool box at the front of the box inside the closed cap of my PU while parked in my driveway. Little stuff but still enough to tick you off for sure.
couchrocket500
Two times in same area (Algonquin Park) The first was when I left my boat trailer at Rock Lake parking lot while we camped for a few days on one of the islands. When it came time to leave we found both rear tailer light on the trailer missing Another year we decided to do the same on Geary Lk (unsure of name now but it's the lake beside Whitney that goes into the park). Left camp one morning to get supplies (beer & ice) and docked at the boat launch in Whitney. Should have known better because there was another boat there with a couple of guys who had the cover off their motor. Similar motor to mine-20hp merc thunderbolt. When we came back the other boat was gone and my motor ran like crap as soon as I started it. Weak or hardly any spark, yep one of the coil packs was shot. I'll never know for sure or be able to prove it but I'll always think those guys swaped their coil with mine. Not hard to do at all . That same trip my daughters father-in-law had damage to his new van by someone backing into it and leaving Like 02 says #$%^ thieves... :angry-smiley-005:
satrat
haven't had to lock my doors since I moved back to Dryden> I live across the lake from town so I dont get pedestrian traffic. also the dogs help .
