Abitibi
I was looking on the OFSC map and noticed this "Colquhon Mountain Lookout" south of Smooth Rock Falls.... Has anybody been there? Is it worth the detour? Cheers
lillabellelodge
Definately worth the detour, on a clear day you can see a long way from up there

irREVerent
X2 X 3...as I recall, it's about 19 kms from A Trail junction to the lookout...some of the nicest (and among the fastest) riding you'll ever do.
sledjunk
Not to be a spoiler, but here are some photos from our '09 trip.
14 snow
Yes, it is worth the stop. The 13-19km detour out of your way off A trail is FAST as is the rest of the way to Smooth Rock falls and beyond.
revrnd
We've checked it out in the past & also the fire tower north of Gogama.
14 snow
We've checked it out in the past & also the fire tower north of Gogama. The Gogama lookout is great too. Much closer to the C trail so it is a very quick and easy stop if traveling on C Trail.
Giddy UP
Ditto :right_on: :right_on: Very nice trail and worth the detour. Sometimes (if you are lucky) you can see the Moose that yard up for the winter on the opposite hill. Usually only the first couple of sleds up will catch a glimpse of the elusive Bullwinkles - so.....ssssssssshhhhh....be berry berry quiet!
Abitibi
thanks for the recomendations and yes, it was a very quick trail on the detour. It was kind of an over-cast gloomy day but still impressive! thanks again
