Calling a dealer to order overnight from parts warehouse is a thing of the past in many cases. A simple overnight order is now 2-3 days longer. And if coming from overseas it could be 3-7 days extra. Local John Deere dealer told me their rush orders are 2 to 3 weeks. Yep, been dealing myself with silly new shipping challenges the last 18 months. If there is a positive to this, clients are far more understanding on projects when you update them that materials/shipment are delayed. What justification do manufacturers have for that substantial of an increase? In the last 2 years my industry (swimming pools) has seen a 100% increase in cost on all steel products, 75% on plastic and fiberglass products, 50% on Stainless Steel, 20% on manufactured equipment (pumps, filters, heaters), etc. Most people I talk to are seeing the same in other industries. I can't see how the manu's can get by on anything less than 10%. Shipping costs, limited factory output, high demand, etc. I just had this conversation on Saturday. I was planning to order a new sled in 2 years but now I'm thinking of picking up one of these late delivery sleds (if I get the opportunity) just so I have it and I get it for a ton less than I'm going to have to pay in 2 years while used sled prices are still sky high. I can't be the only one thinking this way.
