End of Sledding East of Havelock?

More babbling on CHEX about the high frequency train service thru Ptbo being a 'priority' in the Minister of Transport's mandate letter.

4.3 Billion to cut 25% travel time between Ottawa & Toronto. The project will result in relaying track on the abandoned railbed between Havelock & Glen Tay. It will be interesting to see how the route deals w/ Tweed. My only riding there takes a sledder thru a lumber yard...

The Window Washer says it will be great for Havelock. I doubt Havelock will get a stop. In years past VIA's Turbo & Rapido trains only stopped @ Guildwood & Dorval (IIRC). This isn't going to be a 'milk run'...

Guess they will need to build a new trail for the recreational trail users.  With billions in the budget it shouldn't be a hurdle. This is the Trans Canada Trail afterwards.  Can't see the federal gov't cutting it up without a fix.  Definitely time to write the MP's though and make our voices heard.

It might be interesting to contact them about this project.

If it is still managed by EOTA it will be a joke!

A priority that will require significant engineering and environmental impact studies.  Plus the whole route will need to be upgraded for higher speed trains.  And don’t forget the overpasses that will need to be built.

This is a dream at best for the Liberals.
