Saturday's Trip Report

Thanks GrizzlyGriff for the route recommendation as that is what I did today. Original plans were to go to Bracebridge but didn't because of PET ride and wanted to go to Dorset Snowball. Left around 10, enjoyed the dorset snowball and parade until 11:20 and hit the trails. Saw the groomer in the parade.

Headed down D101B towards baysville until trail 64. It was unbelievable! Groomed recently, about 10 sleds had passed making it a little looser for lubrication and just tabletop. Never seen that trail so nice. Got to the interesection of 64 and D101B and turned left onto 64. 64 was even better than d101b, if that is possible! Headed down 64 at a nice 25mph, enjoying the mint trails and the sunny day. Only saw 3 sleds all the way to Kawagama Lake and thosee three were driving very respectfully. Took 68 to Kawagama, across Kawagama (trail 63) to Old Mill for some snacks. Continued on 63 and then D101B back to dorset garage (getting rough). After seeing a very small handful of sleds for the entire loop, I was blown away when I pulled into the dorset garage. Must have been 40 sleds, it was a war to get gas! Some kid had a can on his 800xcsp it was the loudest and most annoying thing every. He was reving it like crazy for 5 minutes just sitting there making tons of noise. Wish the cops were there!

Back across LOB where we saw 6 planes take off on the ice.

Incredible day, less traffic than previous weekends and it is family day weekend with free passes! Just under 100km which was perfect after yesterday's 240km ride.

Heading to Port Sydney tomorrow then down to Bracebridge and Gravenhurst and back up. Can't wait!

Thanks again GrizzlyGriff for the recommendation, probably one of the best rides this season!

aar0n, do you have a planned itinerary for today?

A few of us will be buzzing around Gravenhurst doing the poker run, and it would be good to bump into you.

Hi Blake. Sorry I forgot to check OC this morning. Just go back from a ride: Baysville-Pt. Syndey-Bracebridge-Gravenhurst-Baysville. All trails were stunning except d from bracebridge to gravenhurst after the pipeline crossing

Didn't want to start a new thread:

Sunday's Trip Report:

Woke up at 7 this morning to get the sleds and myself ready for a day on the trails. Left at 8:00 after having a hard time finding my key. Rode across LOB east towards the Austin Lane exit. Trail was clear and packed all the way. Rode Bulmarie road and then onto d102b towards Port Sydney. First person on freshly groomed trail!! Second time this season this has happened to me. All 36km from Baysville to Port Syndey I only saw 2 sleds and I was first tracks the entire time. BEST.RIDE.EVER Got to Pine Lodge Inn at 930 and had a great breakfast. Left Pine Inn at 11 and headed south on D trail. Not first tracks, but about the 4th person to ride the D trail. Was like this all the way to Bracebridge. I couldn't believe it as according to most on here D is usually bad! Such a stunning ride from Baysville to Bracebridge. Gas and coke at CrabbyJoes and back on the D south towards Gravenhurst. D south towards gravenhurst was a snocross track! Turned off of D onto 44 which was mint all the way to D103B which was also mint all the way back the Austin Lane Access. 95km of amazing sledding!

Rolled my sled powder carving! Anybody got a left polaris edge mirror?

Nice pics Aaron.  Looks like trails are holding up pretty good with all the traffic  this weekend.  Make sure you guys save us some snow for this week.

Thank you for the trail report and photos, aar0n.

I think if you'd come closer to Gravenhurst, D trail would have improved. I rode the D partway to Bracebridge just after lunch, and it was great, but I didn't go north of 44.
