It was unreal, there was hardly a time when I looked ahead that I did not see a headlight coming the other way. Good news everyone seemed to be riding within their limits, looked to be a lot of newbies out there. We got behind three sleds, looked to be a family, with and adult out front and two younger people following, none of them had mirrors and they were going sooooo slow, had no clue we were behind them.

Just an update rode from Fenelon to Hali and back, trails were pretty good in the am, some small stutter bumps, a couple of whoops, but nothing serious, ride back was a different story, trails were getting beat up pretty good, lots of brown. I have never seen so many sleds on any trail, it was super busy. I don't know how the trail will hold up after today. Kinmount to Hali with a groomer should be ok, south of Fenelon, don't know about that.

  6. I was north of Barrie around Horseshoe Valley and they have a crap ton of snow, thought I was in Timmins in Feb
  7. What are you talking about, I travel across the province for work every week, are you going to fine me for staying in Sudbury, Cochrane...don't think so. There are no laws about travelling within the province, there are recommendations, not laws. Show me a law that says I can not travel and what the statute is....we are not under martial law last time I checked
  8. I am trying to be respectful of other people and trying to balance things. I live outside of Toronto in a small hamlet, but I am lumped into the region, so it is what it is. If I load up and drive to say NBay and ride for the day, and return that same day I don't see any big deal with that. I bring my lunch, get gas and carry on. I can book a hotel anywhere in Ont, or Canada for that matter and go travel on a whim, not that I would but I could. Gov't is in a tough spot, and I see both sides of the equation. As long as everyone is respectful and uses a mask and sanitizes, you should be ok.
  9. All hotels remain open in the grey zone read the regulations. Westway is sold out for pretty much the entire holidays. You just can't go out to eat or shop anywhere, trails are more than ok. Same as ski hills, walking trials etc. Looks like NBay and area should be open soon, plus there is a major storm hitting Wed-Fri this week up north, so things should be good. I hope everyone goes to NBay instead of Cochrane. We went last year Jan 1-3 and we had 60km of moguls from SRFalls back to Cochrane, my back and legs are still sore...lol
  10. Rode 270km from Uxbridge to Haliburton and back, going up to Hali, the trails were probably the best I have ever rode in S Ont, they were Cochrane like to say the least, helps when you get a foot of snow then -17 at night. Great job by all the clubs keeping them in great condition!!
  11. Cedar Meadows is nice as well they have a full spa you pay extra right on the C trail, stayed at Microtel as well both are good. Cedar is nice as you never have to leave the hotel is has everything on site, we are staying their for March break
  12. Yeah I figured might as well go all in.....
  13. Hi Folks, have been following the site for a while so I thought I would join. I am relatively new to sledding started two years ago at a later age I am 56, now have two sleds and it has been a great way to get out and enjoy winter and see amazing places and meet a lot of new people. I got my family riding as well, 3 out of 4 anyway. Last year put on 5000km, so I guess I am officially hooked, about 1600km so far this year. Looking forward to a long safe season...
