Parry Island (Parry Sound) - Snowmobilers / Cottagers

Yeah I know what you mean. Do donuts without them đ. -
Depends which engine. 900 ace can be pull started no problem, on a warm engine. So I carry a starting rope. Cold engine not happening. Biggest issue with these engines are coils. I had one fail intermittently and sled would quit. Re start no problem and run another 20 mins and quit. Some days it would run fine no issue, but down on power snd used more fuel. At first I thought it was fuel related. After taking it back to dealer a few times it turned out to be a coil. That year part was back ordered so they took one off a new sled, since it was still under warranty. havenât had any trouble since, so I think mine is one out of 50 it happens. Dealer told me they have some every year that coils go. I was also told when starting a four stroke to always let it fully warm up before shutting it off. If you start it in cold and doesnât warm up fully, can get moisture in fuses via condensation and then next time wonât start. Dooâs will shut off on thier own , so I always start them with parking brake on, and let them do thier thing. Never had problems with fuses. Four strokes seem to run hotter then twoâs and scratchers seem to be needed more often then not. Brp ones with replaceable tips and are spring loaded work great. I say they are mandatory on four strokes and cheap insurance to have a set on sled.

Lots of positive and great experiences like you said. Just depends how much risk you are willing to take. One thing if it is a camp and not worth allot. Another thing if it is a nice place and you invested your life savings and time in fixing it up over the years, to have lease not renewed. That would just be heart breaking and stressful. I couldnât sleep at night, so I avoid it. -

http://wasausinklandsinc.com/about.htm Thatâs an eye open with only 11 years left on lease agreements. That would make me nervous. Hate to see you loose your life savings if lease doesnât get renewed. For cost of lease and property taxes that would be 6 to 10 weeks of rent depending on where snd time of year. good luck! -

Read too many horror stories about leases going up, not being renewed and building then has to be dismantled and taken away. If lease isnât good for life of building, then I would walk away. This happened up in Bruce where they refused to re new lease after like 60 years. So it could happen any where really, if there is a conflict with government and they want to prove a point. Also some leased land has access limitations such as no use from thanksgiving to may 1 for example. Reminds of all crazy rules at a condo complex, just worse since you donât own land building sits on. lots to consider. -

That route makes sense to me hugging bobâs point. I wouldnât want to go too Far west on that body of water. Might be safe near north part or island as well, near parry island. I am sure wildbill, will chime in, since he must have some knowledge of this area. I went fishing with a friend of a friend. We left parry sound harbour and went all way around parryâs island. I be lost after first few turns. Henryâs fish restaurant was open but we avoided it with covid. -

Nice area for summer time get away no doubt. Boating and fishing around there is amazing. In your case I would take it and enjoy it as much as you can. Family will enjoy it in summer time for sure. Sorry for your loss of your mom and hopefully your dad lives a little longer then doctors say. My dad died a few years ago from a simple infection that went bad. Always trying to be tough guy, nothing wrong with me attitude. I never sledded near there in winter. Quite the maze to get around in boat though. I get dizzy just thinking about it. Worst case have to trailer out for day rides. Imagine parry sound harbour has ice breakers that venture thru every so often too. You would Think during a cold winter might be some safe routines, but I have no idea. -

Not sure about sledding but why would you want to own a cottage, where you have to pay a lease rate on land each year? Thatâs my beef with it. All based on mpac assignment values too, which is nuts. -
Atvâs are an issue too from brp. I think it is a Mexico thing and I assume seadooâs are made in Mexico too in same plant as atvâs, but not sure.
-
Itâs nuts! People taking advantage of situation and low inventory.
-
Me too. I put in almost 500 sheets of plywood at 26 a sheet in April 2020. Now it is 86 a sheet. đ.

I feel sorry for dealers. I have been very polite but honestly if I would have known zero wasnât going to come in, I would have just contracted out grass all around barns and just cut my usual acre around the house myself. With zero be easy to get it all done in afternoon. Takes about three years before you are ahead though. Wait and see what happens in next few weeks, if anything. I seen s used one the guy wants as much as s new one pretty much and it is 2015. What a joke.
-
Still havenât gotten my new zero turn. Dealer bringing me a used unit tomorrow to use for abit, until and if my new unit comes in. Rumour has it Ferris isnât going to make all zeros on order this year and use covid as an excuse to not delivery. Delivery date was March, then May, then June and now is TBA In computer. Wtf đ

Yes shavings company gives him loads. They donât want to haul themselves to ontario, I think. I only get company trucks the odd time.
-
No. It is a high tech fully enclosed van trailer. He told me he does two runs to ontario every single week to get veggies. Usually stops end of October. Doesnât work in winter and is a big snowmobile. Does 6 to 10,000 miles a winter. đ
-
In summer from may to October ish they have a custom operator that runs twice a week to ontario. He picks up cucumbers and tomatoes in lemington. He usually brings my shavings and sleeps in yard over night. I can unload first thing in morning. Just have to be super careful with forks since it is a special refrigerated slotted fin type of floor he has. He lives about 15 mins from shavings company. Works out well. I am approx 1150 kmâs from shavings companies yard. So it is max he can do in a day. All van trailers. 26 skids fit in perfect. Full from front to rear and about 8â from roof.

Out of Quebec it is only bags. No bulk service in ontario. Wish there was, since only in Quebec you can get virgin product, that is screened in bulk, just like bags. Here in ontario bulk Is hit and miss with quality and fines depending on where it is coming from. I donât like saw dust and bio security in bulk from secondary sources like furniture manufacturers isnât best. They put 45 bags on a skid and weather wrap it for me with two layers of heavy plastic. Designed to be stored outside until needed. 26 skids on a truck with a total weight of around 42,000 pounds. Never get that on a bulk truck either.

You should have seen no back haul available surcharge when covid first hit and everything got shut down last spring. It was over double the fuel surcharge. Lucky I got an estimate and said no thank-you and call me when you have a back haul available. I am on a main highway just outside of Kitchener, not in boonies. Sure enough they call back a week later and said they had a back haul. That would have added 1g Canadian to load. Who knows if they would even run empty all way back to Quebec. Hard to believe nothing available in Toronto that could go to Montreal or Quebec City. The shavings plant I order from is just outside of Quebec City too.
-
They can just put a fuel surcharge on load anyways, so consumer pays. Every load of shavings I get out of Quebec has a 450 dollar fuel surcharge on it. Been that way every since diesel hit a dollar a litre.
-
Golf proved that last year when 22 million rounds were played without one case of COVID transmission here in Ontario. Now Ford continues to shut it down and why! Maybe getting hit in head with ball, poses a greater risk then covid itself, and he is worried about injured golfers going to seek medical attention. đ

He did a fantastic job of closing the road. I think he forgot closed road sign and flagging tape. Only a matter of time before his rig has a giant whole thru centre.
-
I dunno. Wait and see. Zero intial delivery date was first week of April. Now it is second week of may and nothing. What a crap shoot it is lately. Hopefully brp can keep sleds rolling which isnât case with the atvâs, but those are made in Mexico I believe. Dealer got 2 last time I checked out if his 26 on list.

All I can say if numbers were sky high like some riders think they are ofsc would publish numbers. They did just that first year we had early early permits put into place. If you go to Costco and buy a membership, do they tell how many memberships were sold that year?
-
I bought in early February and paid full price and got permit number I088474. If in order and they should be that would be 88474 sold as first week of feb. just not sure if classic numbers are inbetween that start or stop or do they have thier own unique sequence numbering system.
