  1. I'm assuming its a marketing ploy - get more people out and they'll sell more trail passes as a result.. I can't see this working. Anyone with a real interest in the sport will have a pass. IMHO, it opens up the trails to marginal machines and a high likely-hood of people running on red trails. At least in Ontario, the cost of a 3 day trail is very reasonable which is enough to give anyone a taste if they're on the fence about getting into it. Am I wrong?
  2. I'd be up for this. I would like to put together a group for a trip up that way. I've been told that the local trails around Hearst are the best in the area and I've never been past Kap.
  3. UPDATE - The Mrs and I got a last minute deal on an Airbnb on Lac Taureau for Jan 16th to 20tfh. With that being said, I'm still looking for a single/group for the week(s) following 🙂
  4. Hi Dan, Welcome to the forum - great membership here and I'm sure you'll find some riding partner(s) here! Green trails are almost here! There are a few members on this site that live NW of KW so stay tuned.
  5. Hey Bill - your screen name says it all :).. Just another bump in the road of life. Stay positive and listen to you intuition, you'll be back in the saddle in no time. 😉
  6. Shows the 14th/15th on their website. I bet there's going to be an epic number of "trespassing" events this season. This is how it reads:
  7. Based on @Fuse6 above, later in the week sounds better. Lets keep in touch and see what develops.
  8. I've unexpectedly got some time off and would like to spend it breaking in my new Indy. Right now, Mont Laurier has the best conditions and Cochrane is catching up. With the current weather forecast, they are sure to improve.
  9. Cats still have the battery under the seat. 6 fasteners (including battery lugs) and a clip to remove it.
  10. Polaris OEM 8 in. 60° Skag-Carbide Brand new "take-offs" from a '23 XCR 850 136. $90.00 MSRP: $134.99 $90.
  11. Yes, removing the battery on a AC ZR is a PITA!. I've installed one of these and tucked the end up under the seat/tunnel bag. Makes it real easy to connect a charger during dead times (like now!) and the summer w/o removing the battery. Its called X-Connect.
  12. Checked the ITG this morning and it looks like there are yellow/green trails all the way between Cochrane and Hearst... finally. Still quite a bit of red in the area but moving in the right direction.
  13. Apologies and thank you PLC. Still for sale - interest went soft after the new year's thaw. Located in Kitchener Ontario.
  14. Happy new year! Any interest in a trip later this month??

      Hi Patrick,

      Happy new year, as well.

I'm interested but I guess it will depend a bit on how the weather shapes up.  Do you have something in mind?

I just sent you a text, looks like Cochrane will in decent shape in about a week (based on the weather forcast) but north of Mont Laurier is almost all green.  I've been to this area a few times and it offers some of the best riding I've ever experienced.  You can get a 3 day trail pass so maybe drive up Sunday and go from there.

  15. Thanks for the info on the B and W. I have the new version 2022 AT4, how do I lock out the inner tailgate/Step?? TIA, Patrick.
  16. Remember these mid sized trucks are the same size at the full size about 10yrs ago. Not gonna tow like the F150 with a V8 but for what you're pulling, it should be fine. I would say that as long as you stay within 75% of the towing capacity there shouldn't be any issue at all. Watch the Triton in the wind, it will move you around a bit. FWIW, I pull a trailer with a 1500 sierra that pulls much better with a 2500 (24' enclosed), but its still very capable. Towing capacity includes the vehicle's payload so as long as you don't weight down the truck with beer, no worries
  17. Wish I've had some "seat time" on mine so I could offer an opinion... 😒
  18. In case you haven't seen this. Matrix Seat
  19. I just hate driving through Montreal with a 24' enclosed in tow, as I enjoy taking the ferry east of Ottawa to get to Mont Laurier, does anyone have a recommended route around Montreal for trips north (Saint Zenon) and east (Saguenay/Gaspe)?? Looks like there's some viable options when viewed on Google Maps (bridge at Hawkesbury) but I've never been on that stretch of road. TIA< Patrick.
  20. Hope you all have a safe and exciting season filled with lots of adventure and joy! Brappp on! P.
  21. Hurry up, I have a new sled to break in.. 🤠
  22. I just said "careful". Electric drum brakes work completely different than the auto version, the magnets attach themselves to the inner section of the drum. Any excursion of anti-seize/grease/lube will completely eliminate the ability for the unit to act in anger. Brake assemblies can get quite hot and with all the moving parts, there's a big possibility that lubricants can end up in the most undesirable location. YMMV.
