  1. My Dad in the earlier years of the Port Perry club. Chain saw in hand and on top of the world out building trails with a great group of friends, he loved it. Sadly he passed away last night. R.I.P. Pops, we miss you.
  2. Kudo's to those involved in getting things into shape for the season. A shame to hear some won't open at all though, especially on a season that is more likely vs not gonna be a short one. If indeed becomes fractured, gonna break the back of those that rely on winter sledding business to make the all yr plan work.
  3. Rain coming down pretty good in Scarberia.
  4. To me, borrowed means you take responsibility for whatever happens just like it was your own. It's the reason that I just can't ever bring myself to borrow a toy like that.
  5. I recall seeing that posted before but based on replies he's seeing, same problem persists this year. My experience with trail patrol in Quebec has been nothing but positive however hassled hard twice over custom numbers by Police has def left a sour taste in my mouth.
  6. Clearly no one in a position to clear up the problem has any intention of doing so.
  7. Freakin awesome to hear. Hope you got a name n address so you can fire something their way in the mail.
  8. Days like this makes the $$ I've got tied up worth it and then some.
  9. For the first time ever did not buy early permits for either of mine.
  10. Yes customer has a XR4TI that needed a bunch of mechanical love to make reliable again.
  11. Cheap driving given the vehicle.
  12. Part of the problem with the comparisons, many skew the numbers, either lowering diesel consumption or inflating consumption on the gassers. During fall cruise to see colors with my bride, straight hwy run across 401 to 35-115 n up into Haliburton saw the Ram hit 9 ltrs / 100 flat. Yes it was a relaxing cruise that is not typical of how I drive it but it sure is capable of great mileage if you give it a chance. As for the reported 14-16, even with my typical using remote start n short runs around the city, barely hit 16/100 city runs only. Open alum car trailer with a Mustang on back up to the Soo a yr ago, hovered at 16.2 for the trip up, way back with a lighter Merkur on board, hit a hair over 15. To me, fact it's just that much better on fuel n tows better vs my previous Sierra is a bonus, just plain like the truck so much it could be worse on fuel and I'd like it just as much. Even better, haven't had any of the one thing after another problems that plagued the GM. Keep in mind, coming from a guy that figured he'd always be driving something out of the Generals stable.
  13. Substantial difference in towing "economy" with my Ram hemi vs previous 3 5.3's. Not to say the 5.3s didn't do a decent job but no where close to the torque and used a bunch more fuel doing it.
  14. To me, seems like a terrific idea making it part of the plate renewal. Suspect part of the trick to making it work, how money flows back into the clubs but no doubt it would be a sizable dent in the freeloader crowd. Also agree on making the fine substantial enough that once a few are caught, news will spread like wild.
  15. If previously insured only during the sledding / trails are open season, what would have previously either early or post season if a volunteer was injured or crashed a means of transportation out to the trails on one of those trails or crossings?
  16. Lots of different ones for sale here including full set of Adventure bags n bracket. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/toronto/search/?query=polaris bag&vertical=C2C&sort=BEST_MATCH
  17. Small bag and rack on Kijiji https://www.kijiji.ca/v-snowmobile-parts-trailer-accessories/oshawa-durham-region/polaris-storage-bag/1476562895
  18. Switchback version in classifieds over on HCS. Pretty sure I also saw one on Facebook market place last week.
  19. My take on the language, means yes you can operate a sled from your home via the most direct (I assume most direct legal route) route to the trail. Also means yes a visitor can do the same to access food or fuel etc from the trail. Only assuming but guess it came into play to keep those that blast around the streets for something to do off the streets.
  20. Aw shucks, was aiming for a lo jack but ya hit closer to a hi jack. Great looking sled.
  21. More convenient n relaxing to use, no doubt but don't get lulled into a false sense of security. As the miles go by you'll quickly see, far more prone to accidentally pull the throttle when bracing your self over a sudden bump or slip backwards on the seat and instinctively grab the bars. As a kid, always road sleds with throttle flipped as my Dad had a childhood injury which prevented him from using a conventional flipped, as such, have huge miles n years riding with top throttles.
  22. Waterproof matches in your jacket. Trick is to not die in the water so at least you have a chance.
