  1. Quebec is getting a bunch finally also. Over a foot since last night about an hour from Ottawa.
  2. That is true. I know they have lots of cash behind the scenes. They buy up big land tracts in the area. The land where the Forest snowmobile trails run is probably less then half of what they have. If you ride out Of the Forest on East road and take the OFSC trails up the hydro line towards Whitney you will be travelling on HF property a fair bit if not all way to Algonquin park boundary. They bought up all the property containing Coburn and Beanpole And Possibly more. These lakes are off side trails along the south side of the hydroline towards Whitney before the Algonquin Park.
  3. Sure they can be selective. Lets see how selective they are when they have hardly any riders in for a weekend are trying to keep the facilities and a restaurant open. Who would be booking cabins? Not likely locals. Boycott!
  4. Fraudulent accident, loss and theft claims are probably way up. When some People have time on their hands minds go to quick dollars. How many sleds will go missing this year for parts sales?
  5. Hi Stoney, i was told they were fined for not proper Social Distancing. Being within 6 ft of each other without masks on.
  6. So it’s all about profit and money yet a restaurant can’t open for willing customers? A construction crew installing utility lines outside were fined $800/man this week. 6 guys all fined by ministry of labour. Not one of the guys had a issue with the distances they were working at. All being paid what they accepted for their job. And their employer was making the money they wanted. All profiting. But all fined! Why? What’s the difference? You said it’s not an issue if my employer doesn’t mandate a mask. We better shutdown Most of our economy for safety and better good of all citizens but the rich role models can play professional sports and teach all their fans not to social distance and not to worry about being close to each other. Its not not about how good they can or cannot play the game it’s about educating those to young or those Not capable of grasping or understanding the concepts of social distancing. A lot of people will never buy into things if politicians and sports stars live by different standards.
  7. At this stage it’s not about how well you can do your job wearing a mask is it? There are a lot of people forced into wearing masks whose performance maybe reduced or are uncomfortable wearing a mask at work. Either we are all in this together or we are not! Professional sports is not a essential service. They are not necessary. They can wear masks as an example or don’t play! Or do we give exemptions to everyone? Or just the rich? Or the politicians?
  8. To me it doesn’t matter if they are tested hourly. Are they all living in a bubble? No. It’s all about Optics.
  9. Why are professional sports teams not required to wear masks of some sort? They are far from social Distancing. They are huffing and puffing on each other! Full face shield? Cloth mask? They want to get everyone on board then have the big sports stars endorse the rules. The people who are idolized need to set examples not be exceptions. Do do you think kids will take social distancing serious when the big stars don’t?
  10. If you are exposed to Covid you are asked to isolate for 14 days. We know it takes 2 or 3 days for test results to come back. We know the results being reported are always a few days old before being released. Maybe even a week at times. so 6 or 7 days to get test results out to politicians for planning. Add 7 to 10 days for symptoms. 2 to 3 plus weeks in time. So results released this week would be the tail results of Just Before Christmas Day possibly before the Dec 26 restrictions started? Or From just after Dec 25 when infections could widely spread during family gatherings? If cases start to drop this week or next is it a result of the new measures initiated today starting Thursday or the measures in place since Dec 26? I think the politicians have no real clue WTF they are doing, how the results are interpreted and are throwing darts blindly hoping the rates drop and they can relax.

Anyone know how rail line from Fenelon north is now? looking to possibly go in the morning.
  12. Was over on the B trail today and up to South Bay. It was yellow right to Haliburton Lake the other day but red now when I look. Lots of tracks up on South Bay crossing causeway to the big lake. A few fishermen on big lake but no real tracks heading up towards north end that I could see. Hydro line will definitely need more snow to be groomed and it could be opened.
  13. I think they still do that. Both times I was there last year the groomers were parked during the day.
  14. If you take the sled trail off north end of haliburton lake and cross Ross Lake road you cross ontoForest Property. They own both sides along hydro lines all the way up right of way to Algonquin Park.
  15. They actually own double the area shown on that map. They just have not expanded their trail network or campsites.
  16. I used to love going ice fishing into little back lakes. Spend days riding around old skider trails and seasonal goat paths to fish. Was a pile of fun.
  17. 30 Years ago people (and our group) used to go ride there because police would not be in there. Lots of fun was had. Poker run weekend was a crap show.
  18. Some areas have posted speed limits. My guess would be when you sign the liability form you agree to abide by conditions. One being no speeding. And 2 no cans allowed. And 3 valid insurance.

Is the rubber shield easy to put back in? Is the rubber required for cold days? I am looking at buying one soon. Who has best prices?
  21. Looking on Kijiji this morning and in first 2 pages of adds there was 7 or 8 brand new long track deep paddle machines advertised from one Artic Cat dealer alone.
  22. Fishing part sucks but catching is awesome.
  23. A couple of observations about Quebec from my experiences there last year. Quebec season permit holders all flinch when someone in group has an aftermarket exhaust. 6 guys with season passes all gave negative review of trail can on one Ontario guys sled. Quebec season pass guys were all happy to have Ontario riders in group for free weekend. Quebec season pass guys expected the can rider to get a $1,000 fine and a tow truck ride off trail. We went through 4 spot checks on Saturday of free weekend and we were all waved through on a slow crawl as they checked our sleds for mirrors. Guy with can was lucky to make it through. At every spotcheck we saw 3 or 4 sleds getting full inspection. Free weekend is huge for tourism. In Mont Laurier on Saturday morning the skidoo dealer had a line up of 25 to 30 people buying gear like handlebar muffs and heavier cold weather gear. Big question is if free weekend works in Quebec and is a huge success there every year why is it a fail in Ontario?
  24. All parties involved in the snowmobiling game need to take better action and create awareness. sled manufacturers sled dealers sled riders sled clubs this year is a tough year with Covic and no sled shows for promotion but I truly believe the Sled manufacturers and dealers need to step up to better the sport! lncrease awareness and promote positive experience for all. why does all the sled dealers in GTA have 155 and 163 track length machines in inventory? I was told manufacturers force them to take full line. But it only promotes off trail riding in areas with limited off trail areas And the aftermarket part manufacturers also need to be promoting proper riding rules and etiquettes
