  1. To be fair, it looks like in this case the stump wasn't on the side of the trail, it was on the trail according to the article. I'm not sure how the groomers missed that.
  2. Where the "jealous" emoticon? 😁
  3. Your friend in the background looks like he could have used a little privacy.. at least wait until he's done before taking a picture!!💩 🤣
  4. +15 and sunny in the Ottawa area yesterday.. didn't get the rain they predicted, but all trails are closed now. Was hoping we'd make to march break. Time to get the trailer out!
  5. We got about 6 inches of fresh stuff this morning. Not as dense as I would have liked, but not bad either..
  6. South of Ottawa (North Gower)
  7. We didn't get anywhere near the amount of rain (was supposed to be 10mm from 7-8pm!! but whenever I checked it was nowhere near that).. I think it actually stopped raining alltogether during that hour to be honest. At 5 this morning was still around 0 I believe (unless I was lucid dreaming) so certainly wasn't +8 at 3-4am.. no real loss of snow around the yard, and some snow in the forecast!.. if (and that's a big "if") the 2 week forecast holds true we should be good for another 2 weeks of riding.. my local trails are still yellow (although I wouldn't venture out until we get some covering.. driveway was awfully slick with some powder snow on top of the ice sheath..
  8. Okay so to add insult to injury the Weathernetwork is misleading. The 7 day forecast shows highs of 0 Tuesday and -1 Wednesday, but when I check the hourly forecast.. it's actually going up to +10 overnight.. from 12am to 4am it's going to be +10.. how is +10 NOT the forecasted high temp??? I felt slightly optimistic thinking it was only going to be slightly above freezing, but now I think we're toast, unfortunately..
  9. Forecast still holding at +2 for two days and 10-15mm of rain here.. not sure how that will play out.. will it melt what we have or just turn the trails into an ice rink..curious to see how this plays out...
  10. Ah crap... looks like I went and jinxed it.. 😢
  11. I think we did decently down in the Ottawa area. I think my driveway has about 6-8 inches accumulated, and that's after the initial snow was absorbed by all the water. The field trails I drove by yesterday were still strips of white in the middle of corn stubble, so there was still *some* semblance of a trail still holding. Depends on the location.. around Richmond even they were mud, unfortunately... Next week we only have a 1 day blip with a bit of rain..fingers crossed it doesn't expand..
  12. Rain started late last night (south) Ottawa area. Still +5 and pouring. Still have lots of snow on my front lawn though, but trails where already brown on the weekend... Going out in a few hours and will drive by the trails to see how bad they are...
  13. Been +5 since around 2 here.. clubs flipped the trails to red late-afternoon.. 5 sleds just went by,,, smh
  14. I unfortunately can't confirm.. the only claim to fame Dad mentioned about KL was the gold mines and the fact that Alan Thicke was from there as well (although I think they missed each other by about 10 years or something).. I think Dad moved to Ottawa around the late 50's.. My aunt/uncle had a cottage on Butler Lake that we used to stay at.. It's no longer in the family unfortunately, but have great memories...
  15. Wait... did you buy RAMSOMAIR's Mach? That was fast!!!
  16. My Dad was from Kirkland Lake. Growing up we would head up for 3-4 days (up to a week) to hunt grouse in all his old hunting spots. Now I bring my girls up for a short trip to hunt birds too (amazing how even forests change over 35 years). I still have not had the opportunity to go sledding up there yet.. but it's certainly on my to do list!
  17. Oh that is great to know.. thank you! I didn't realize there were relays in the fuse box at all.. I thought there was only the ones on the outside. Thanks! Maybe I need to re familiarize myself with my electrical components of my sled.. LOL
  18. Which relay would that be and where is it located? I've only had to deal with the reverse solenoid relay on mine, and would like to know if case that happens to me (2014 GT). Thanks!
  19. If you read the fine print I believe the 900 n/a (at least my 2014 anyways) says 87 octane if ethanol free.. otherwise recommends 91. I thought my local Stinsons was ethanol free (the owner kept telling me it was) but when I contacted the actual Stinsons' fuel supplier they indicated that all their 87 octane has ethanol by law.
  20. You also try calling the Butler Lake Truck Stop..it's north of KL on the 11 right across from the A trail... I'm not sure they are still in business though as they didn't seem to be a few years ago the last time I was up.. but it could be worth a few phone calls to find out...
  21. BRP Go seems to either show dotted Red for unavailable, or blue for available. Maybe they only go blue when the ITC shows green? That's a weakness to me if that is in fact the case..
  22. The online ITG is updated now to show the yellow trail.. however the BRP Go app is not.. hmm..
  23. Actually there was a problem and the OFSC emailed me that they fixed the issue. I just tried and no problem now. Woot Woot! The "next" button wasn't appearing before..
  24. Anyone else having trouble buying passes today? I started on the weekend and got distracted (d'oh) but I can't get past the 2nd tab "registered snowmobiles". I've updated both sleds to "check" the boxes required, but there is no way to get to the next screen. When I try and click the Permits tab..nothing happens. I thought in the past there was a button to "select" the sled at this stage.. I've tried Firefox, Chrome and Edge and all the same results. I've sent an email to the OFSC but that could take a while.
  25. The insurance companies don't write the laws.. and currently Ontario indicates your tags are still valid..they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
