  1. Regarding the STOP program ending when OPP took on more or I guess all of the enforcement - what was the back ground on this? All I think I heard was the OPP did not want both, but there has to be more to it than the OPP stating they do not want something for it to be squashed? Does the OFSC currently push the OPP for greater enforcement, if the OPP cannot provide a level that is satisfactory, is the option to reinstate the STOP program discussed? This is of course assuming there are folks that want to fulfill the STOP role. Just curious given the discussion going on.
  2. There is this update on the Snowcrest FB page about the D trail and losing it. https://www.facebook.com/groups/148875491815624 and there is a work around as well !!!
  3. All forums have there plus's and negatives, take them for what they have a move on......nothing should be enough to get you worked up, except for personal stuff, I think most places draw the line at that now a days, with varying degrees of leniency.
  4. Might be time for a dedicated pinned thread on the do & don'ts on posting etiquette.....
  5. If anyone has rode up Devils mountain, you will see how bad the trails there can be too...... Thankfully they have some a nice lady living up top waiting to serve you some drinks
  6. Another point, there are ATV trails in QC....in some locations.
  7. I have no first hand experience with this, but I hear the penalties for those not willing to follow the rules are dealt with more harshly: no permit, pay double upon being caught illegal exhaust, sled is towed (this is something that I have read - not sure how true it is) Some gas merchants also check for permit before providing gas QC also does tourism so much better - has anyone ever called them to request info/literature, the response is really good I thought as an out of province person, you could receive $40.00 back on the insurance - I think there was a thread or that was mentioned here somewhere. QC does have their issues, I recall when we rode to Tremblant, there were no trails leading anywhere near it, they did not want sled there, so I assume there must have been some bad situations in the past.
  8. Yes, it is more, plus they no doubt also get more grant money from the province (and likely the Fed's too...), but I really do not think it is the money that makes it better, they have better seasons and it is a life style there with a greater amount of respect in general.

I see Yellow from Kimount to Haliburton.
  10. Interesting idea, but I think more for simply educating people that really do not know how the trails actually get there, steps taken, what is done that causes trails to close, etc.....that might put things into a different light for those. People that do some of the things you see or read about will not stop, some people really do not give two $hits about a lot of things and have a few screws loose...... If the police have put any thought yet into the significant increase in outdoor activities or the crazy sales happening, they would know this will be a record year for fines to the people with no trail pass, Ins, etc..... Should be easy pickings based on what you hear so far.
  11. Congratulations on the soon to be bundle of joy
  12. Bought my 92 YZ250 off of Irv a couple of years ago and the kids have a PW50 plus we have a second PW50 that they could use as well. Been great for weekend warriors, nothing crazy but fun for the kids and I. For our use, I cannot see investing in more than I needed too. I think the bigger question is do you have a place to ride without the hassles to today......
  13. Apparently Cdn's have more money then ever sitting in their bank accounts.......I know our household is not hurting, not rich either, but the Fall & winter are usually the more expensive time of the year for us traditionally due to lump sum payments we make this time of year and Christmas of course.
  14. Great question, Feb us too early though, depending how this season & covid plays out of course.....
  15. Happy New Year!!! Cheers to a prosperous 2021

Looks to be some much needed snow will come tomorrow that should help. The trail riding North in the morning is usually not bad with traffic.....the return South is usually so much busier with long lines of sleds most of the way with small breaks, can not imagine what it was like today.
  17. I always go to Bradford for mine, very rarely that busy and in and out fairly quick.
  18. What about the gift card option (I think that is what it is called when you are getting a new sled with no VIN yet)? Other option is gift cards, really easy way to show gratitude and leaves the option of what to get, up to the person you give it too.......or a re-gift option on their part.
  19. I also recall reading or seeing issues with people getting fines or hassles from police on the renewals. I did not receive any paperwork for all my renewals, but before my birthday renewed what I could online and went to the MTO for my truck seeing I am not able to do that online......but this happened when we were not "locked down" Not sure if the MTO is open during the lock down.....I would think so. The online process was super easy, really cannot see anyone not wanting to do it this way honestly, if they can.
  20. ................... Exactly.....it has been a slow start this year with lots of uncertainty and politics at play as of late on so many levels. The popcorn has been extra buttery and tasty lately Many topics are political ones, while others are not that do not have politics involved (or very little IMO).......but to expect you will not see any political views that you or I may not agree with on any public forum, is I think being a tad naive. I personally like to see others views on things, it can sometimes put things into a different light or perspective that you never thought to consider vs. being closed minded. Likely going to see less actual reporting this year than ever as a result of what is going on and some people that may choose to react negative to the reports they see due to varying political views of our current environment......but I much rather enjoy seeing people out enjoying themselves via pictures, updates, etc.....on this forum or others! Happy New Year to ALL and wishing & hoping for a prosperous 2021.....with plenty of cold, snow, good times and smiles !!!!
  21. We are seeing a drastic increase in the "Karens" of the world......
  22. Toronto has a lot of senseless votes.....just look who is leading the Federal party, not for one term, but two.......
  23. The term is misleading for many, no doubt. When you compare the spring lock down to this one, there is a BIG difference. There is a lot more traffic and activity now than there was on the last one. More things are open than before and IMO more people have come to realization that its a waste and need to carry on with things, so that is what is happening...... I do not think Ford wanted to or had intentions do the lock down, he succumbed to the pressure of others and here we are. Personally I think it will hurt his ratings and I hate to say this but we may be in for a Libtard control again.......
