  1. Well we all know, or should know.....90% of the info reported my media is incorrect. How many time have you either been at an event or have direct inside knowledge of an event to hear the media report something that makes you shake your head and wonder where they were that they saw this....
  2. Personally do not know the official answer, but I would imagine as an out of province person, the police may give you some slack on this, but let you know while in the province, you are to follow all rules & regulations while visiting....do it a again and ticket will be in hand.
  3. Well, they were correct on my 1+1 seat.....but I figured with the shortage of these chips across so many different products worldwide, I do not think anyone really has any concrete answers. Would be great to get sooner, but I am not expecting it before the 2022/23 year, and would be surprised even at that point.....but the 2023 models better not get theirs before my 2022 does ..... lol
  4. "Show me your papers" - we just went back in time many, many years......very sad state we are in for sure.
  5. I have always been told paid - but could be an interesting argument. Maybe if the OFSC starts to pay for OPP enforcement, we would get a better service......
  6. Yes, private. I have only ever seen them on the main trail - but they could be anywhere as they are paid by HF to be there. HF started hiring them to curve the accidents and recklessness of people - used be a guy dressed in a Orange snow suit that patrolled it (pumpkin).
  7. No, curfew affects all people within the province - you can be out as long as you have your papers to support your reasoning for being out i.e. work. Causing me some grief on work right now I am getting done - people even in the province, do not understand this.
  8. I know for sure Odot1 was asked this on other forums - I do not recall the answer, but, assumption would be trail on sanctioned road falls under HTA......hence why kids with sled license are not suppose to ride sled on trail that crosses road or runs on road.
  9. The HTA also does not apply to trails, which is why the fine for speeding is a flat rate fine vs. the fine you would receive if speeding on a road. HTA rules are extremely loose in parking lots - why they say it is the worst place to have an accident. Also why police cannot enforce using phone in this environment while driving, etc....
  10. FYI....QC is expected to remove curfew this Monday.
  11. I picked up my lock today as well....and the 1+1 seat too!!
  12. Told 2023, but honestly is just a stab in the dark right now.
  13. Thanks - and I just saw some feedback from thinksno on DT. He mentioned a few quirks about it on his ride in QC, like when you go off the planned route to get gas, it warns you of being off your route, annoying I guess.
  14. I did a search to see if this has been posted about other than mentioned in the odd thread, found nothing, so thought I would start one. Anyone have any reports, feedback, etc....on this one? I have recently seen two members ref it on QC trips, @Steve F6 here & @Thinksno on dootalk I think. I just downloaded it, created an account and plotted the QC trip we are doing in a couple of weeks that are all saved just waiting to be used for each day. Looks pretty decent to me looking at the phone vs. real world use.
  15. I ended up adding front tow hooks to my Dodge when the package I picked did not include them - felt they were a needed option that all trucks, or vehicles for that matter should have.
  16. My guess is a liability seeing as they are not really part of the OFSC trail system, just a shack that some kind folks built.
  17. Oh man, that sucks and what a horrible sinking feeling. Place likely has camera's, so there is slim hope. Good luck though.
  18. A Late start means a late finish - would be best case scenario this year no doubt
  19. Honestly not sure of the exact location or name, my in laws live in Wiarton and and BIL operates trailer park at Red Bay and this was a topic if discussion a few years ago since they both are right in this backyard.
  20. It has been a crazy year for real estate....no issues selling it seems - it also seems many of the cottages are sold with the intent for rental properties/income.... However I was referring to a few years ago when I heard the lease rates went way up in that area on the native lands and people were walking away before the cottage market took off.
  21. Apparently enough to make people walk away from the cottages they owned on leased land.....
  22. Cut any holes in Kennisis? If people are running K, just imagine how many of smaller lakes are ran. Raven must be well tracked.
  23. I think most guys will not go down this path until they experience the issue and maybe on a frequent basis. I cannot imagine why a guy that is mechanically inclined would laugh at the idea either. We usually have always tried to position sleds as much out of the wind as we can when parked overnight - all my sleds to date have had pull starts & never had an issue with cold morning pullovers. I know for the Doo, they sell a block heater that looks to be pretty easy to install (remove side panel & muffler) - if I happen to have a repeat issues, might be something to look into. The jump starter to me seemed like a no brainer - relatively cheap, small and serves more than one purpose when or if the time arises. As or the effort to use it, on the Doo, it is two small torx screws, remove cover and voila - the Cat is one torx bolt, but the seat needs to come off too, not very hard though.
  24. 4S in the extreme cold, yes - it is a popular option, seemed to be more common on the Yamaha's though. I chose to buy a jump starter should I run into a weak or dead battery for any cold morning starts that are an issue.
  25. So what would that area or loop be without base camp? I assume a groomer can do the loop with no fuel stops. I know we used to love the idea of going into the hydro lines - not so much any more. Just a great destination to see the dam and the trail up and back is nice too. Personally, have no issue with what they charge for the occasion we make that run. I would hate to see that loop gone for good.
