  1. I have quit as well oldsledhead. I kept my sled for seven years after my last ride and put a total of one km on it in all that time. If the doctors can get me back to being comfortable and without pain, I know I can get back into it as easily as I sold out. Right now I am physically useless to the club but I can still think ok. Unfortunately, they don’t require those services right now. Do what you think you need to do. Never say never. Life changes so fast that turnaround might just be a few days away.
  2. Maybe we are going to have to do something like the truckers. 30,000 sleds protest at Queens Park or at O.P.P. G.H.Q to demand police support. We are certainly paying more than our fair share for what they call “police protection “.
  3. Ahhh!!!! A retirement resort!!! Lol 😂
  4. At the break neck speed of 50 kmh I am sure!😉
  5. If you want to call Ontario local. I have customers from all over the province. Everybody in the same business as myself throughout Ontario has to deal with the same rules.
  6. Nope. Service industry. Truck, auto and mechanical repair and electronics.
  7. Supplies etc. don’t get there by themselves Ox. Except for babies, everything gets delivered by truck. If you take it off your own property, it is a $1,000.00 insurance bill. Even a 1ton truck has a license plate sticker cost of at least $278.00 per year. Business costs add up quickly in this country. That is why so many are closing and moving south.
  8. Trucks or cars need to deliver their supplies to base camp parking to be available for final delivery. Liability insurance is a minimum $5,000.00. We are talking Canadian dollars here Ox. Insurance and government rules are something unheard of by most people. Business people have to adhere to the rules. That all costs money. Owners and employees don’t want to work for free and their cars, trucks, houses and families eat up a lot of dollars. If all the money that went through my business stuck to my fingers, I would be a very wealthy man.
  9. Trucking and delivery costs of about $200.00 an hour. The people in base camp looking for a wage of $20.00 an hour (isolation pay) trucks and fuel to carry food and hard goods, insurance starting at $5,000.00 per season minimum, insurance on their trucks $,1000.00 per year, loss of investment income because of start up costs and then the costs of start up inventory. All this before they even open the doors and then the risk of how much business and what kind of weather they get. Definitely not an investment that I would be interested in. Just saying
  10. This is why I am a hands on kind of guy!!! If I can get my hands on it then I will pay for it!!!
  11. A while ago I saw one on a trailer being pulled up hwy. 400 just north of the Jolly Roger. Different kind of unit for sure.
  12. A not preferred sled is better than snow shoeing!!!
  13. …. and a belated Merry Christmas to you as well sir!!! Great to see you post!!! Don’t be hiding on us!!
  14. Glad I bought an 8ft 6in by 24 ft used trailer early this year. If I wanted to sell it now, I could make a profit. I won’t sell it because it does exactly what I want it to do right now. I was there with the cash before three other guys got a chance to look at it.
  15. In his job he would want to watch his fingers or they will disappear??
  16. ……. for the remainder of the sledding season!!!!
  17. Fortunately the only trouble the reverse motor gave me was no operation at all. No reverse. The only time it had a tow rope hooked to it was to pull out dead sleds. Now my tow rope is not in very good shape. 🤣
  18. The DD gave no real trouble except we had to gear it up because it still had a bunch left on the table but it hit the rev limiter. The reverse motor was a pos and cat warranted it as well as the position sensor(switch) twice. Although the replacement reverse motor was not a make that I would call a quality unit, it never gave any trouble for the remaining time I owned it. New CCU under warranty and an O2 sensor as well as replacing the drivers’ heated seat element and seat cover. As far as deep snow, the 144 track was very surprising at how well it performed. When I stepped off the machine and was looking up at the seat, I realized that this tank was pretty impressive. I was not convinced when I first bought one but my curiosity got the best of me.
  19. Funny how the Barney turbo would handle the 300 tune and much more!!! lol 😆
