Yes, I'm well aware of that and I don't believe I said anything to contradict your statement.

I rode from Linwood this morning. Its groomed where its yellow on the map. No grooming to Linwood but lots of snow on that section. 6 trucks and trailers parked there today.

I rode from Linwood today. Through Conestogo Lake, Teviotdale, east side of Harriston, Mount Forest and lunch at Pebbles in Varney again (my buddy loves that place...lol). Trails were reasonable for snow, better above Harriston. Not much grooming in the last couple days. Some trails were a bit whooped out but some fresh snow made it alright. Coming home we rode up to Nuestadt and down to Clifford for gas (tough run to that gas station on hwy 9, roads are bare). South of Clifford was getting thin. Tops showing in plowed fields, bush trails turning brown, snow was soft. We stayed on the west side of Harriston, Palmerston, and came straight down in to Conestogo Lake back to Linwood. The trails were taking a beating with the mild temps. My ass was killing me by the time we got to the truck. Back to the truck by 330. Honestly, just pick and go where ever. I don't think you will find anything that's not beat by noon tomorrow. But I would avoid Listowel and Palmerston. Trails are already thin and there a lot of people riding there. I would head farther up and hope for less traffic. As farmer said, I seen posts on Facebook from a few clubs saying they won't groom tonight.

Did the groomer finally make it passed your place? My buddy in St Jacobs said the trails were groomed by the Waterloo R&G.

Interesting dilemma right? You and I both know the trail is there, its staked and signed and the property owners have signed off, its just not showing on the map. There won't have been a groomer on it because the groomer is tracked by GPS and the OFSC has forbid clubs from being on trails that don't exist. But we know there is enough snow to not cause anyone a problem. In fact, it would actually do the club a favour by packing down the snow that is there to help drive in frost and promote drifting. Cross 2 fields and you are on the open trail. 😈

I was being polite….lol Guess I will get the bad news at tonight’s meeting. See you there.

Weather is looking great for all these trails opening in southern Ontario. Lots of cold through the end of the month.

My mom has the Karbons and they do come with lithium batteries. She gets just about 5 hours on high setting. Replacements are $49 for a pair. Her's didn't work as long this fall so I bought her replacements on Amazon for around $35, I see them for $41 now. Also had to replace the charger, about $30 on Amazon. She used them a lot last year for walking.

Not exactly, it is at risk of being closed unless you can justify the trails existence. Its not an immediate action. This was discussed at length at our club meeting. In district 5, its not hard for us to go 2 years without sending a groomer down the trail. It also means that a club could send the groomer down it once and keep it active.

Yes, nice and sunny all day, windy in the open areas.

Good snow from Orangeville to Dundalk. Lots of drifting snow. The bush trails north of Shelburne suck, no snow. Super burger is closed so we are eating at Champ Burger.
-
Most of them around here are the local township, region, municipality, etc. The short story is that in many cases, no one actually knows who has the signing authority so it goes to council meeting, goes for review, goes to a legal team, blah, blah, blah and you wait for the answer to come at the speed of local government. I see PLC has answered the same.

Was it on the map last year? I thought it had been gone for a couple years. I thought it only connected to Primerose which is gone this year too.

I have 3-4 trailer rims sitting here going to scrap because a tire is $80 but a complete assembly is $120. Only makes sense to buy the assembly. But then it feels strange to throw out a usable wheel.....lol

Map is getting weird. No trail to Elmira today but it was there yesterday. I see some of Bridgeport trails have disappeared too.
-
Yes, B109 used to go through on that east side of 10 but hasn't for a few years now I thought. I believe at one time it used to connect to the section shown above 89 as a dead end now. There used to be a trail heading east on the south side of 89 towards Alliston from that same intersection as well. Maybe because it loops onto its self there, it allows it to be shown on the ITG. Possibly the club is still hoping to bring that trail back. Likely just remain closed all season.

I'm only 15 minutes from the trail in Alma and I see Mount Forest has re-opened some of their trails. Its been a real mixed bag the last week. I keep refreshing every hour....lol

I’ve been seeing this clump of trail on the east side 10 on the ITG for a while now. Is it just a glitch? With the land use deal going on I don’t see how it could be.

I went and looked at the Murray Motor Sports website and they have a bunch of sleds going cheap on there.

another 2 inches around Kitchener this morning. More trails opening. I see you can ride all the way to Parkhill and Ilderton right now.
-
Always been my sore spot when I see a small area open. People quickly ride all them then head off on to the closed trails that connect. But it’s a tough call for the clubs who want to offer up the trails they can. Im sure all those trails are beaten to death. We need snow.

Maitland and Palmerston just closed all their trails as well.
-
You can ride right out of Elmira.

Gees, I was going to give a bit more trail report and say the best we ride today was west of Fordwich to Gorrie and towards Brussels but some of those trails are now closed. Fordwich to Clifford is mostly plowed fields and its garbage. The road allowance is good of course. Going south out of Clifford, that railbed section is thin with gravel showing. The trails from the bottom of that railbed over to the B111 west of Palmerston is 80% plowed fields and bush, garbage. Surprisingly, B111 from there around to the west side of Listowel was pretty good. The railbed from Listowel to Atwood was ok in the morning, getting snirty by the afternoon. That restaurant will be a regular stop for us now. Awesome smash burgers. Not licensed just so you know.

I talked to 2 guys when I was unloading beside them in Atwood. They had drove to Milverton first and other sledders in the parking lot told them not to bother. Milverton trails were mostly dirt.
