  1. Heading up to Suds in the morning, staging from the STP yard. If you see me, come say hi.. I won't be hard to spot..

    AGM ideas

Districts 1,5,8 followed closely by 6,7,9. If you want to know the numbers sold, your local club can get you that information.. Back when there was talk of regional permits, it was well thought out. In the end it was decided it wouldn't work. Just for shits and giggles,.myself and a few friends that are Provincial thinkers, tried to come up with regions that would still benefit all. In the end we kept coming back to the Provincial funding model and realised, ourselves that it wouldnt work. Some of our best thoughts while brainstorming came from a shop, with a woodstove and a bbq and a computer. I encourage people like yourself, to keep thinking outside the box. If you aren't with a club now, please consider joining a club meeting and get engaged..

Regional permits would never work in my opinion. Just look at the top 3 districts who sell the most permits for the year. This would have a negative effect on the Provincial trail system. Some good ideas here, and thats how change can happen..
  4. Bang On! From.my personal experience and many years grooming, building trails, and doing signage/risk management. Yellow is way over used. Clubs I feel are worried about risk and I get that. When I list a trail as yellow, I think about a family who wants to go out for a ride, is it passable? Yellow keeps many riders away, and in many cases, I have ridden yellow thats green all day long.. Education is key...
  5. And this is why the locals call them the whiskey runners... There is a reason the OFSC pulled the trail out there years ago. Ice breakers, currents, open water. In the shilping channel its 300ft deep, good for salmon..
  6. Stay off the ice this year, horrible conditions and If you are not friendly with locals, check it yourself.. My buddies are ice runners only and parked the sleds 6 days ago..

    Sudbury

They use to have a link for Spot unit tracks. Not available anymore to the public due to OFSC Risk management policies..
  8. Hi Sarah, I was looking back on some of TvBrians videos from back in the day and came across this.. Doonuts back lake tour.. I believe this was the weekend of the P.E.T ride out of Gravenhurst. It looks like the Torrance badlands area to me? Sean was a great guy and is missed.. Cheers! Paul
  9. My understanding about the MOU agreement between the OFSC/OFATV is to better the trails infrastructure on trails that are shared use. Working together to promote responsible riding, respecting private land and sharing the same messages.. Lot's of people think this relationship is going to make for multiuse trail permit or a dual mou land use agreements. We are both seperate Corporate entities still and always will be.
  10. We need some out of the box thinking, which I think Ryan Eickmeier (CEO) Excom and staff are doing a fair job of. There are many clubs and or districts doing different styles of fundraising. Some have are registered charitys. But with that, there can be alot of red tape. It can be a slippery slope, but can be done... Even to have a 50/50 draw you must register..
  11. Each club is its own corporation and so is the OFSC. Ofsc has its own Charitable number and under the guidance of staff, decided to take a poke at this lottery. Will be used for infrastructure, safety related programs. Without a large permit increase. So if you wanna play, support the trails give it a shot.. Personally I think its an exciting endeavor for organised snowmobiling. Completely legit...
  12. I believe it's November 15th launch date..
  13. Snow and traffic dictates grooming frequency. The budget dictates fuel useage. We are covered for budget..
  14. You will know probably sometime next week, as approval needs to be made offical by MTO on any increases. Clubs will find out this weekend coming.
  15. OFSC Agm is this weekend coming. Nothing official regarding permit cost for this season..
  16. Lots of Alis Chalmers Tractors .
  17. We just grabbed the cowl, there is more sled..
  18. My buddy just recently took possession of a farm out in Midhurst, outside of Barrie. We were doing some digging out in the back 40 and came across an old Ski doo, burried in the field. We dug this up? I don't have to much history on the Huronia Snowmobile Association, but understand they exisited back in the early 80s. Have you guys ever found someting unique to Snowmobiling?
  19. Things have changed, we have a better mechanism to quicker get things approved for permit fee structure.
  20. I believe our district got 100 gift cards, 10 clubs in the district. I'm going to guess $10-$15 each, I don't have confirmation of the denominations.. Regardless its a nice gesture and is meant as another way to say thank you.. 😊
  21. Landowner appreciation program that the OFSC has going, through some of our Platinum sponsors. I believe BRP Go is apart of it. Districts are recieving Tim Horton gift cards for each club to hand out to Landowners. Our club does gift cards already through our club sponsors and fundraising, CTC and Home Hardware cards.
  22. Psst, head out towards field and Verner.. We just did that today.. Mint!
  23. 5 cms lastnight and blowing snow right now.. Lots of drifting. Groomers will be out again tonight and tomorrow. We will stay open as long as we can..
  24. We know how to stretch the snowflakes! Thanks Baylaker!
  25. Not everyone needs to head to the NCDN to get a fix. Judging a trail from a road isn't the best insight. We just opened some trail and I could have listed green in some areas, but with conditions changing it isnt worth it. I would say they are very rideable, we also helped a little along the roads section for overheating.. Barrie!
