I find fall a very exciting time, change in season, beautiful scenery, chilly nights start to set in, hockey is in full swing, sledding becomes more of a focal point, etc…. But the realities of life can be a bit of a bummer and definitely a discussion point, whether it be people struggling, dealers closing, people walking away from orders, possibly low sale numbers for permits, last year it was trails closing, etc…resulting in “sled prices falling large”.  But as you say, the negative thoughts are quickly forgotten when the snow flies, people are enjoying the season, making and sharing memories.  Unless one is abundantly rich with wealth, I’m not sure trying to be fiscally responsible is necessarily a bad thing when things are not exactly rosy….and are forums not for just that, discussion of various things that all may not align with! Sure would be awesome to have a third consecutive great season though      

Why does this site go so negative every fall?  The world is ending and the sport is doomed.  Then we get a foot of snow and life is rosey.  I don’t get it.     I made it to the show in Toronto yesterday.  Yes it’s shrunk.  But it had the majority of what I was looking for.  Bought some parts, saw the new rides and looked over a few trailers.  Would I like to see more presence from the fcmq and Ofsc.  Yes.  But I get why they didn’t setup.  The prices the venue and the organizers charge to be there are very high.  Maybe that will send a message that the organizers will listen to.  The non profits shouldn’t be who they make their buck off of.  I don’t regret going.  Minus collecting a few maps I’d like to have it had everything I was after.   After two bomber seasons I’m not expecting a third.  But I do think permits will sell.  I know folks that have been out the last few years that are buying again this winter.  A bit of inventory will keep the manufacturers honest.  The economy is cyclical.  A correction is needed every once and a while.

The only real party is on the snow!   I didn’t think it was a good idea to have an ex central banker in charge of an economy, but what do I know…

the show is in a death spiral used to be 3-4 buildings you could spend several hours was done it in an hour i wont be back, Hardly any vendors manufacturers displays were small. More atvs than sleds and vendors that have nothing to do with the show. I've been going since the beginnings in Markham Fairgrounds.

Good to hear there is some chatter.  haven’t been in a while as well, really have no desire and weekend free time for other things has been very limited for a bit now…and driving much south of here has become a rare thing…lol
