I did some research on them. Seems costs sky rocketed with trade war with USA. Not even sure they are making vests any more, at moment. I can't even find a Kitchener address either, which seems fishy. I have a bad feeling they just closed up shop and are depleting inventory until trade war improves.
X 2 but I'm guessing this is the catalyst ?
Not saying this is the case here, but sounds like there are some similarities ?
Waters become real muddy when people are monetarily compensated for anything on a regular basis and still have a vote at the club, district and/or provincial table, even if the compensation is much smaller then fair market value. Over the past few decades I remember many other great incredibly dedicated volunteers, some even past Governors, who bent over backwards providing services for pennies on the dollar, being legally forced to step away as these practices were true conflicts of interest, which could put the whole organization at risk if left unchecked. I can still remember a near lynching amongst themselves down in Dist 5 about 15 years ago, that caused a whole family of dedicated volunteers and land owners to walk away, because others within the District felt they were unjustly taking all the pie not just a piece. Also a lot of that kind of stuff helped fuel District 16 to be shuttered.
In saying this I remember Martin quite well, very dedicated volunteer and great guy. Had many laughs with him back in the day when unwinding after business at AGMs.
