I am not seeing any deals right now. I do know that my dealer has already started to have a few guys call and back out on Snow Checks already which isnt a good sign.
I would like to find a 25/26 Skidoo 600R or VR1 650 for my dad to ride but there is pretty slim pickings out there right now.
All I know is we ran our sleds yesterday, my son put a windscreen on my sisters sled and ditched her "old lady" windshield, and we're looking forward to the upcoming season.
I'm back to my usual fence sitting of riding old faithful or upgrading - time will tell
We're at the middle of August and we still don't know what groomer(s) we will have in our stable.
Yes, post season maintenance/warranty work has been done.
However, we still have the BR180 with the broken axle. Is it being mothballed or do we fix it? Do we have one or two groomers this season?
Do we fix up the groomer and drag from another club that we have in our possession? Will it be our groomer for this season? Don't know.
Side note:
The trail we gave up last year for the "OFSC trail reduction" plan(15+kms) has been OFSC approved/good to go for this season.
Other than removing as much signage as possible prior to "Dougie's" influx of cash in Dec 2025, we haven't touched that trail. There's many work days/weeks worth of work to clean up the March 2025 Ice Storm damage and much of it can only be accessed after the swamps/lakes are frozen.
Problem is, the OFSC shuts down trails that haven't seen a groomer or opened in 2 years, outside of situations out of our control. Trail hasn't been open in 2 years. We probably have an extra year. Is it worth the effort if we still have 30+ kms of other trails that haven't been touched since that ice storm (solid 10 days work)?
First world problems...lol..
