Yeah, we are staying at the Frontier.    The Amosphere was sold out of double rooms for Friday night and the Frontier only had 2 left so I thought I better grab something while I still could.     The Amosphere is still a decent spot but no where close to being "The Place To Stay" in Amos like it was.     It looks to me like it never really recovered from COVID.     The little heated garage was cool but I dont think its available any more?    We pounded a ton of beers in that shed over the years.     Hotel hot tubs are a hard pass from this guy though.    LOL.       

My buddy is driving home from Cochrane right now.      I will ask him what Hwy 11 looks like.   I know when he went up on Monday he said that New Liskeard was the furthest south that you could even think of starting from.     I think you will be fine with KL.           

Is it OK to be optimistic about this coming week in northern Ontario. Like many, I suspect, we postponed our last trip of the season until next week. Hope to sled next Tuesday thru Friday out of Kirkland Lake, but have not made any reservations since so much is closed south of KL. We're hoping to ride New Liskeard, Gowganda, Elk Lake, Englehart but trails are still red despite recent snow. If we have to, we will try to get accommodations on the Northern Corridor, but that is not our first choice. Does anyone with a crystal ball see the 108, 109 and 107 trails south of KL opening this weekend?

Trails are great, with status being upgraded as I type this.  Worth the drive if you dont feel like heading to far North.   Lakes are in good shape.
