sledderdan
MAN THROWN FROM SNOWMOBILE DIES February 05, 2008 Christopher Mills Special to The Hamilton Spectator (Feb 5, 2008) Police say speed and alcohol were factors in a snowmobile accident that killed a 55-year-old Hamilton man Sunday. The mishap happened around 5:40 p.m., north of Dickenson Road and west of Miles Road. Police said the man, whose name has not been released at the request of his family, was driving through a field when he was thrown from the snowmobile. He was taken to hospital after being found by a friend and was pronounced dead. "The man who found him was travelling with him, but ahead of him," said Sergeant Terri-Lynn Collings, media spokesperson for the Hamilton Police Service. "At one point, he looked over to see if (the victim) was following him and he wasn't." Collings said it took the friend 20 minutes to find the victim. It was the first snowmobile fatality in Hamilton since 2005 and the second since 1997. This happend just around the corner from me. We have no OFSC trails in this area, yet the feilds are full of sleds. My thoughts are with the family and friends. Take it easy out there. PhatboyC
My sympathies to his family and friends. This happend just around the corner from me. We have no OFSC trails in this area, yet the feilds are full of sleds. Their is no problem ridding on Crown land outside OFSC trails. But we must be careful as obstacles are more numerous and sometimes hidden.
