Have no idea ! I had the same shock just a week ago. Told MRS.STG about the club house we were going to see later in the day and when we swung into the clearing - outhouse and garbage cans. What a disappointment; it was a great one.

SlowTouringGuy
up in smoke... Wow ! I wondered if that might have been the case but the surrounding trees didn't show any evidence of fire. Too bad, loved that clubhouse.

Have no idea ! I had the same shock just a week ago. Told MRS.STG about the club house we were going to see later in the day and when we swung into the clearing - outhouse and garbage cans. What a disappointment; it was a great one. We too had the same rude shock on the last day of our saddle-bag tour a month ago. Pulled into that clearing hoping to get a little warm respite from the blizzard-like conditions we were dealing with that day, on our way back to our vehicles in Kirkland. Alas...no clubhouse to get warm. Sorry to hear that it burned down, Ron...any idea what happened?

Makes for a good spot to warm up and meet other people..

Makes for a good spot to warm up and meet other people.. Yes. And it was a big one too - lots of room inside to meet and greet. Like many of these places - clubhouses and warm-up shacks - there was an old wood burning stove. A likely culprit.
