Winter Carnival Season

We popped into the Winter Carnival in Hearst, saw some beauty old beaters and stuck my Alpine into the pile with them for an hour or 2.  I was surprised to see

some really nice old units in there, even an Elite that's trail ridden several times a year !

Enjoy !

That's some pretty cool old iron there.  Reminds me of primer bulbs and rope wrapped around primary clutches for some reason.

Rewind starters were pretty lame back then, I guess you've been down that road too ?  Reminds me of doing points for some reason ....  :D

Almost pointless .... Ok really when you got the points right they ran great the issue today is getting good quality points to work on them still have a couple of new in box bosch sets in stock but getting thin .

I'll take a points motor anyday over a cdi.  WAY bigger spark and more reliable, so long as they stay clean.

Yes and no . You really have to know what you are doing to do it right and no cheap junk points either

Ha, that's funny !!!  I always seeing old iron, got a new windshield for my Alpine, did some clutch modification to make the Yam clutch push the big alpine, it's turning the right rpms now.   Todays' project was supposed to be change the windshield and jet the carb but with this wind the uninsulated garage won't keep any heat in it.
