Blake G
Currently shivering at Gull Lake Park, waiting for the sleds to hit the water. Water racing is not necessarily an activity I'd want to try, but it is nice to hear the 2 strokes ringing after a few months.

Mossy
Tugboats and barges? Ha! Just sleds skipping across the unfrozen water.
Blake G
Well, some sleds skipped across the water right enough, but there was also a barge on hand (pontoon boat actually) for retrievals.  On your mark...  Get set...go.....  Glug.  Bye bye  They pulled the two closest sleds off the beach with atv's, and used a barge and winch to get the one that sank on the second loop.  The fourth sled completed the course no problem. 4 loops.  I will post a couple of videos as soon as I upload them to Youtube. dweese
Looks like fun... almost could have been ice racing with the weather today
Blake G
The weather definitely put a damper on things today. Tomorrow they are scheduled to run from 9 til 4 or so. Today they were supposed to start at 9 but held off until after 1030 due to the rain. It costs ten bucks to get in to the park this weekend. Â I'm not a huge fan, but it was certainly interesting and a bit amusing in some ways. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. It's a poor substitute for real sledding, in my own opinion, but what can you do when it's still September. LOL

revrnd
Some of the local guys run across Chandos from the boat launch to Trotters' Beach & back. I haven't seen them in person, but have seen them pass thru the village w/ the sleds in the back of their trucks.
