revrnd Posted April 1, 2013 Share Posted April 1, 2013 From the Bancroft Times: On Saturday, March 30, Haliburton Highlands OPP responded to a serious snowmobile collision in Highlands East.At approximately 6:30 p.m. the victim, a 49-year-old Aurora, Ont. man was operating his Skidoo snowmobile and collided with a tree. As a result of the collision the male was fatally injured. OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators attended the scene and conducted a scene investigation. It appears that speed and alcohol were contributing factors to the collision, and the deceased was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
