Has any body stayed here recently. What are the rooms like clean?

Stayed there as recently as last year. It is where I usually stay when in Sudbury. Restaurant is relatively small but very good. It seems to be the local Sunday breakfast place.

I highly recommend it. Moonlight, across the road, is OK as well for rooms but does not have a restaurant. Both places have lots of parking.

BTW, both support the local club.

I found the Moonlight was fine for a mom and pop motel last year, have a review in the Food and Lodging section of the forum.

Likely full this weekend. Have no direct knowledge of these other places, but if Chateau Guay and Moonlight are full, look up Lively, Levack and Fairbanks Lake on revrnd's accomodation guide for other possibilities.

And I think Freezer Burnt use to recommend Rockies on Wahnipitae all the time.

If you stay at any of the above places, please file a report. There are relatively few accomodations in Sudbury with direct access to trails from the parking lot.

We had planned to stay @ the Chateau Guay in '10, but when 30cal4me spoke w/ them, they recommended we start further north due to less than stellar snow conditions. They had no problem w/ us cancelling our reservations. We ended up starting @ Pine Falls Lodge. It has had some more good reviews since our stay. Probably a 20 minute drive off Hwy 17. Just off TOP D & C206D. Lots of folks ride out from Sudsbury for lunch.

  • 2 weeks later...

We stayed at the Chateau Guay this weekend. Clean, large rooms. Restaurant has a wonderful breakfast selection and last call for dinner is 8:15 p.m.

Would stay there again.
