LOL - pestimist. Start late and finish late.....if you are willing to go to where the snow is. I remember last year one of the guys on here from Kenisis lake area had many ride reports in and around the Dorset area when many were done for the year (cannot recall his name right now).....and Dorset is not that far! Might be a great year for the lakes, who knows.

So why is that a few weeks ago when it was around 0 degrees it out, it sure felt colder on my body - today at what looks like -7 out, but I think the "feel like" is much colder, does not feel as cold.... I was a bit concerned earlier on and thought I might have to consider something else for clothing to keep my butt warmer....lol Anyways, it is a much more crisp chilly morning outside for a change!

Given the way things sit, no one is going to give best case, they will give worst case to avoid people coming back to them throwing their words at them, or bugging endlessly - which will likley happen regardless. The trend in the forecast in some areas look promising for things to improve, I am sure trails are cleared/brushed at this point, there has been no major storms causing trees down (knock on wood), so add some cold, some snow, some packing/grooming, signatures all good and voila, maybe some yellow trails.....

Better lower the price of that Rave sled and the others too than to get them offloaded - values will be dropping by the day .....lol

I’ve told myself for a while now, getting away for one, maybe two multi day rides/trips and a couple of day rides is enough and what I’ve come to expect…. no longer the get away every weekend rides that usually started sooner.

Once the snow starts, many places will be in business......not places close to most of us, but that should not be surprising to any.

Yep, green but not a ton. cannot imagine there is enough base to venture off the trail either.

People only look at the past what 20, 30, 50 years when in the big picture, that is nothing. Many predictions have not come true over the years from that same period. it’s not like nothing at all is being done either to offset the cons….there have been significant changes to curve things over the years in technology and people being more aware. Than the “events” are used as a political tool and a money grab.

Another holiday and another heated discussion with my FIL about weather, save the earth, etc… a new twist was the EV vehicles discussion and all that will be allowed in the next decade that he believes to be true and good for us.…. He’s a stubborn liberal of course. To your point, I brought up past environmental predictions that never came to fruition that he just wouldn’t acknowledge.

Temps are starting to trend in the correct direction, add a couple of snow events QC sees more often in the 20 to 30cm range and things will change quick. I don’t think there have been major wind or freezing rain storms so not dealing with large amounts of downed trees either 👍.

If you are still committed to the sport, I’d say it’s a great time to buy…not if I ride, it’s when I ride. surprised, or maybe not really, no one has commented on Ontario permits sales for this season….ya know the number is out there, just not openly shared that I’m aware of.
