  1. We have left our trailers and rigs for a full week in the past there, no issues at all. Have arrived with 2 to 3 rigs and room for all....as long as all park smart of course.... As noted, parking down the hill at the gas station has been an option shared, but have never needed too, but when driving by it heading up the hill, it has always tended to be not as busy a spot either. @Gadgetman - Planning trips in Jun, you are a good man!
  2. Maybe someone with more background on this will correct me, but I believe there is a pretty heavy emphasis on managing the forests / lumber in this day and age, surveying areas intended to be logged, paperwork submitted, red tape added, etc, etc..... In saying this, I would think that what was in motion months or possibly years ago, will continue and to in order to increase production based on what has transpired in the last 12 months, requires a process to be followed before it can be implemented......so in the coming years I am sure it will get worse, this year might be too soon for that though given the process. The next point to wonder, the amount logged cannot exceed the new growth cycle......like in the past it did but I understand that has been corrected to a certain degree, but of course money & politics seems to prevail......
  3. LOL.....I like this as a (ex) Cat guy.... This is a good one
  4. See, made in Canada....make Canada great again, if that is possible of course.....
  5. It appears Sea-doos may be both in QC and Mexico.....with Rotax engines in Austria... VALCOURT, QUÉBEC, CANADA Valcourt is our home, where it all started. Today, it plays a strategic role in BRP activities worldwide. Valcourt has become the Centre of expertise for design, research, development, marketing and manufacturing of Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo and Can-Am products, where we can find the Laurent Beaudoin Design and Innovation Center, the Product Development Center, our factory of Ski-Doo snowmobiles and Can-Am Spyder 3-wheel vehicles and our global headquarters. OUR MEXICAN FACILITIES Our Mexican footprint has grown over the years. We now have two plants in Juárez where we manufacture our Can-Am off-road vehicles. In Querétaro, we assemble our Sea-Doo watercraft and the Rotax engines for our Can-Am off-road vehicles. .
  6. I have no idea actually, which is why I made that statement as possible reason with a "IDK". It really does not look good for a sea-doo buyer to see sleds arriving in the summer/spring and yet their sea-doo is not here yet, don't ya think? I thought I read something somewhere that various vehicles BRP sell are made in different places. Are all Doo sleds made in QC, is there another plant in the US or Mexico....
  7. It was a joke son…😀....and yes, I actually did, which I believe stateD the sleds missing parts would sit in yard and expected to be retrofitted in Fall! Its crazy new iron is already arriving though.
  8. I wonder if they are complete…. ….
  9. Interesting link over on Doo https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/brp-trying-to-honour-every-order-despite-chip-shortage-185721453.html
  10. I recall reading about using a sealed relay vs. the one from the factory to prevent this.......but based on the OC consensus, it appears this issue does not happen much if at all. I am sure one of those things that gets blown up in the interwebs......anything possibly bad, gets blown way out of proportion.
  11. Perspective on its size perhaps.....
  12. Is the relay issue an old thing perhaps, I know I have read about this issue on more than one occasion and if I am not mistaken it seemed to be a Doo thing, with an easy fix, but you have to have the spare on hand or you are screwed.......maybe more of an issue for those that choose to thaw their sled in a heated garage between rides.....which I do myself. I have carried a small folding saw as well many other things for years, but I was more looking or talking about the other not so common things you might need for a Doo or a 4-stroke specific to these two points.
  13. I am pretty sure I have seen or read some of your tips, which look very helpful BTW and I "think" newer sleds do not fall victim to this as much as they used too. I have witnessed more dead batteries on newish 4-strokes causing no start, usually that is it.....but of course not always, I recall some older Yammies (before Yami-Cat) having a hard time starting some cold mornings. If I were to have repeat issues in the cold, I would likely than look to re-engineer what the manufactures clearly could not do on a product actually intended to be used in the cold , like you have or look at a different sled without these repeat issues. Any 2-stroke Cats that I have rode or rode with, always started in the extreme cold, even the older Cat 1000......but needed a strong arm and make sure the pull rope was good, just start with slow easy pulls and work your way up......
  14. I ride in a variety of places, every year is different for me from parts of QC, Northern ON, Dorset area, sometimes Ghurst & North.......and I have rode Barrie to Wasaga many times years ago when they had an awesome year. So on your "manly scale", I have rode & will ride anywhere from around freezing temps to -35/40.....like to avoid the -35/40 days, but when on a trip, that is not really an option!
  15. Great idea ...... that is exactly what we saw a QC touring group use for some heavy touring machines that ended up in the rhubarb one year.
  16. And maybe a spare Doo sled based on your experience with the 900T... Thanks.....I thought I saw something about there being a better relay that had less issues in the cold, I am sure someone will chime in if what I am thinking is correct.
  17. Figured I would add some sledding related inquires and I was going to ask these questions at some point before the season starts anyways. I believe I have read on a few occasions about fuse and/or relay issues on the Ski-Doo's and carrying spares is a must Are there "better" fuses or relays to use/carry vs. the stock replacements Do most with a 4-stroke carry with them a booster pack should you run into a dead or weak battery anything else..... Obviously there are a slew of other standard things as well that most sledders carry or are considered must haves i.e. spare belt, ice scratchers, tools, tape, etc.....but I am more inclined to know what Doo or 4-stroke owners tend to carry that is specific to these two topics seeing as I am new to both a Doo as a sled and a 4-stroke engine
  18. I really don’t think most invest their life savings into a cottage, at least I sure wouldn’t..... I think most who have one just happen to have some extra money each month that makes cottage ownership possibly or realistic. Most municipalities will not allow a trailer parked for more than a certain period of time.
  19. What, do you work in the insurance field or something......... lol
  20. Our biggest deciding factor is what the fair market value is, than decide if we want to buy my siblings out knowing it’s leased land. As much as you could worry about the lease deal, I really don’t think there would be issues, IF anything ever did happen, there’d be a lot of sudden cottage fires going on..... View ain’t too shabby either!
  21. If we end up going through with it, we plan to use equity from our home, we have lots of room there, so we should be good......but I know they keep changing the rules with so many people getting too far into debt, so more questions to answers...... Never had any plans to get a mortgage for any cottage we go with, too many other rules to look at to please the banks.
  22. Sort of what we are thinking, in the short term...... Get into this, see what the market does for cottages in the future and then possibly make a move to a place that we really want in a location we prefer......and if that does not work, we have a Spring, Summer & Fall cottage at least ! Booking camp sites the last couple years has been crazy stupid, party because of Covid, but it was getting bad before that too, unless you did not care what park you went to or did not need a site that fit a larger trailer....so not dealing with that, is not a bad thing either. And a trailer park is not an option we care to entertain.
  23. Ya that line is quite a bit East of where I would be.......we would be closer to the lighthouse at Killbear, which from what I understand, that North facing shore on the island is where most of the cottages are. Looking at an old trail map for the area, trail 210 ends at the swing bridge and C-ALT runs along the shore line closer to Parry Sound. No trails come into Killbear at all, which I am not surprised, closest trail on that side is near Dillion Rd.
