Oh, me too….but I figured it would more easily hit the higher marks, but 90+ percent of my riding is not there so not a huge deal. SS sure do seem to be a home run.

That would be a good thing. I love the pull of mine corner to corner or on the highway like trails, but the wall it hits above 100mph is not what I was expecting. Not that I typically want to run over a 100 often or for long, but it should not struggle to do so. So for sure a welcome update 👍 !

The road is also open & maintained now. That inlet of Simcoe usually freezes about as fast as Cooks bay does......but the ferry running back & fourth does not help of course.

With the MY22 that is still fresh in peoples minds and what seems like a challenging year for many, I wonder how much hype there will be for the MY23 line up. Doo & Poo definitely had some road bumps to deal with, and still are. Makes you wonder if they try to keep things simple while everyone navigates the way things still are and hold out for any big releases/updates until things get closet to back to normal. Kudos to you for being excited and pumped !

Come on, where’s the pictures!

I did find it odd that a dealer I drove by seems to have alt more Ram trucks now than in a while.

Yep, I used to live or put a big emphasis to get the miles on as well each and every ride or weekend I was out - the more the better, the last little while, I just enjoy getting out, no longer focus on the miles, just the enjoyment that it brings being out.
-
Ya, I get that - it can be a challenging sport to stay active in. As for the Poo.....you brought that on your self......
-
LOL....you used to be a sledder - what happened to ya

Might get a chance to test out my new FXR floater jacket.......kidding of course, I have no desire to test it out, ever!

Who you calling heavy....lol Crappy couple of days next week in the forecast with warm and rain.....

I have ran Simcoe a fair amount in the past being 5 minutes down the road from it (Soldiers Bay), used to be at least a weekly destination spot, and you are correct, pressure cracks are a big safety factor that change at the flip of a switch, thankfully they are typically consistently in the same location year after year. I have not ran Simcoe as often I used too and tend to stay in the Cooks bay area as I usually just take my kids out there now......and Simcoe has not been no where near as consistent as it used to be for freezing with our crappy winters, so now have some doubts about heading North of Cooks bay, so figured I would ask those that have ventured across it for some feedback.

Thanks Kyle - and seems to have increased this week from what I’ve seen from the shores.

Anyone been across the lake from the south end of Simcoe along the west side to hop on B112B…any issues or concerns to make note of?
-
I have one hanging in my garage that I rarely use, but nice to have when needed. I installed an eyelet in the support LVL beam that I use to lift up my sled when required for some activities.

Has anyone heard about trail grooming in Muskoka?
stoney replied to Little Ski Doo's topic in Main Clubhouse
Usually room if you are there early - later you arrive, the fuller it gets. People just need to park sensibly and consider others trucks and trailer. There are other lots to use as well if this one is full. It is just off #11 down the road - very easy to get too. -
Open at first as having some fresh air come in is what I wanted & like, it was not until I noticed the cold air causing my eyes to water and wind burn just under my eyes, I than closed them and noticed some ice built up on them - not really an issue, just an observation....I was trying to see if it was them causing the air leak around my eyes, which I was pretty sure was not.
-
They all have them in the rear storage seat compartment - special gift for buying one......
-
Used to see these all the time - not so much anymore.

On our trip, the two helmets that seem to be seen the most consistently by those staying over at destinations were Mission and Oxygen. Tons of locals wearing the MX style helmets though.
-
That is exactly what I thought it was as well - I know on other days I did just that and ran my finger along the seal at the top of the visor when I took my helmet off, which was not often on the trails honestly. We only stopped for lunch twice I think all week, so really no reasons to take it off.......maybe that exaggerated the issue. The two vents at the front froze up as well on a few of the days.

You do get to ride once in a while

Just finished a week long saddle bag trip and on occasion my Mission helmet seem to have an air leak, I assume around the seal. I think it happened only one day. Normally not a huge deal, but on really cold days and travelling at a quick pace, I found my eyes watering and skin just under my eyes getting a little wind burn. Anyone have any feedback on this based on knowing or hearing of this happening to others? Otherwise, helmet worked great. Used the heated visor once on the day it was snowing pretty good just to avoid the potential issues for that day and needing to get the wires out on the trail vs. at the start of the day when it was easier - anything that hit the visor would normally turn into a ice ball right away otherwise.

Returned home real early this AM from our trip - we all decided to head home Sat afternoon upon arrival to Shawinigan vs. staying the night in Shawinigan & leaving Sun Morning as originally planned. Just over 1000 miles - was a pretty relaxed trip, some short days and some longer days, but nothing crazy. The ride back through and closer to the Mont Valin area was a lot rougher than going the other way - not a lot a sleds to be seen really, but those longer big lug tracks really make a mess of the trails. The last night stay over was at Relais 22 miles again - another fun night at the bar with a bunch of other riders. Was talking to a guy Sat morning at Relais 22 miles that organizes off trail cross country races in that area, he had a group that was just starting one - sounded pretty interesting & I am sure one hell of a race through the bush. Stayed at Universel in Alma the night before. Managed to see two moose running down the trails between Alma and Relais 22 miles as well. On the last 20km down the river into Shawinigan, my brothers 998 Kitty Cat broke down - overheated really bad in plenty of snow, something went seriously wrong, had to tow him the rest of the way, thankfully close to base. Did a quick google search and it looks like they have a problem with this - could not tell where it was coming from, but it was leaking antifreeze and boiling/bubbling real good. A few more pictures that I took as well that I do not think I posted yet.
