  1. I would say me too, but I recall this advertising was hard to miss between bill boards and commercials on the radio. I recall the exact same thing, officer does not need to do anything, the system scans as it drives and I guess gives a warning if a plate comes up that is an issue.
  2. It was pretty heavily advertised a year or so ago. Process is, log onto ontario.ca / renew your license, etc....provide the info required i.e. license plate number and the permit number on your ownership, confirm your address is correct, supply odometer reading, pay the bill if you are buying for sled, receive email confirmation and voila, you are done! Than as noted, sign up for reminder if you like for sticker, license, health card, etc.....that are all taken care by Ontario service center contractors. I find it hard to complain about this since it is one more money grab removed, just like emission testing crap, etc... Many more to go.....
  3. Yep, I would day so. But people were reporting how some received no ticket while others did. Sticker on car remains the same, it is an update in the system, so a "soft" update - is there a real purpose to it, not sure, but I guess it comes down to perhaps other things that might be flagged, like outstanding tickets, 407 past due, etc.....so renewing will not be possible I would assume.
  4. Pretty sure you are supposed to log on and complete online sticker renewal for free, but no sticker issued. I think some folks were getting fined or something like that for not being up to date, even though it us free now.
  5. TTT With reminders not mailed out for snowmobiles (just commercial vehicles it seems), unless you sign up for email reminders of course - for some it might be that time of the year to apply for the new snowmobile sticker before the season starts! I just did mine for sled, car and went to MTO for truck.
  6. B trail heading east of Whitney Date....Dec 22, just in time for the weekend...lol

    Permits

Ya, I thought about that, but figured if you knew/suggested they started at 5001 this year, they must do that each year?!?! I am not sure what the reason for that is of course, figured they would start at 1 each year, so why randomly start at 5001 this year, must be some sort of consistency to that process year after year, but maybe not.... Perhaps years they expect low permit numbers, the OFSC artificially exaggerate the number of permits sold to protect the optics....lol

    Permits

Did some checking today on permit numbers and dates (I think I did the same last year)..... 2023 permit ordered Oct 27, 2022 - permit number was 34,525 2024 permit ordered Oct 27, 2023 - permit number is 36,632 Pretty close in numbers on exact same date, so I guess that is a good thing....
  9. Has it been an issue on the 2 strokes? Ive only ever read about this on the 4 stroke forum. This will be the first year for Gen5 4 strokes, so I guess time will tell if the issue has been addressed.
  10. Based on what I have seen posted from others: remove tank seat, hood, side panels, centre console panel, cross brace & fuel line Remove snap ring holding the fuel pickup/pump assembly from tank Separate fuel pickup/pump assembly Clean fuel pickup and gas tank thoroughly Replace sock and inline fuel filter Reassemble People tend to have issues with the seal that goes on the inside of the fuel pickup assembly that swells so reinstall can be tricky or just replace the seal as well Have not seen much mentioned about doing it again after the initial sock replacement, so I would think moving forward it will be just an inline fuel filter replacement. I do not understand why this is not a manufacture recall, maybe it will be, just a matter of time and after most have already done their own at their own cost......
  11. I have not noticed if the issue is mostly with the Turbo or Turbo R sleds or the N/A sled too, or if the issue only started to appear in 2022 when the R came out. I would assume with the Turbo or Turbo R sleds having more power with the turbo they are running at higher fuel pressures, even though I think they all use the same fuel pump. It does state in my manual to "replace fuel pump outlet filter" every 5 years, which is beyond 3 years or 10,000km scheduled maintenance interval that falls just before the 5 year service interval......no mention of the sock. I am hoping @scottyr can comment on what his dealer is basing this maintenance item on, telling their clients, etc....I would assume just doing it for good measure based on customer experiences to avoid a trail side issue and doing it at an added cost.
  12. If St Onge is doing that, as well perhaps other dealers too, are they charging for it and why has this not been addressed by the manufacture?
  13. Your wife knows what is best for you.... You do not see many pools going in these days and I assume the new players on the block do not have their names plastered, so not noticed, at least not that I have seen.
  14. Lucky guy to have options to occupy your time…lol No pushing snow this year and winding down the business (I think), you’ll need a full list to keep you busy!

    Permits

Mine is L036632 that purchased on the 27th.
  16. Seems to be an issue selectively affecting some people - but you also only tend to hear all the bad situation on the internet. How many sled have no issues compared to those that did or do or those that did the sock change just because? First people were blaming bad Canadian gas in Northern QC and ON, than it was a sock issue from dirt in the tanks from factory..... @Candubrain I think posted his sock change results on Dootalk with I think a fair number of miles on his sled, socked looked black, but I do not think he had issues and just did it as precautionary measure. Hence, why I am on the fence about that.
  17. Do you shower and put on dirty underwear.... The filter and o-rings are the cheaper part, oil is the bigger expense so it only makes sense to me to change it all, but to each their own.
  18. Oil and chain case is done at end of season - never let the old stuff sit all summer! I am guessing your Doo has a different primary clutch, but on the p-drive you need to clean and grease the rollers - that brake cleaner you use will take away all the Isoflex grease that you really want to keep on those rollers! Might want to double check what primary clutch you have, you might be doing things all wrong.
  19. The 2-moke oil is replaced by the engine oil filter and kit at the end of these season though......I think around $125.00...lol Which seat did you buy, I assume one from an 850? Care to send me a link to that ad with the other seat for sale - TYIA.

    Permits

Charge more and sell more permits…lol
  21. With permits now on sale / being ordered and some nice cooler weather - what is on the to do list this year before season starts or perhaps pending purchases, purges, etc..... Here is what I got: Install new ski guides on the sled trailer - bought from Royal a week or so ago Already replaced the tongue jack Rebuild both skid shocks on sled and re-valve New sliders Inspect skid while I am at it Clean & grease rollers on primary clutch clutch & replace any worn parts Maybe a new belt Looking to buy a new seat for sled - either new comfort seat or a seat from the 850, something that is a bit taller On the fence about replacing fuel pump sock & filter Considering buying a tune for my sled as well to give it a bit more jam.....

    Permits

Here we are on an actual sledding forum and all this talk of folks not buying ON permits - lets hope we have a banner year to change that mindset..... !
  23. Is the the normal time of year to get first snow accumulations around there - or ahead or behind the "norm"?
  24. I was going to ask the same, seems like it was just bought - but things change fast when kids are involved! Good luck on the sale.
