  1. I was in Dollar Tree on Saturday, the lady being trained on the cash had to be 80+ - my wife actually said to me that she hoped she was there for something to do, and not because she needed to be there. I said let's hope that is never either of one of us.
  2. Nothing new, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer. been that way since day 1
  3. Inflation is a real thing to the non rich.
  4. Didn’t make it, took the kid dirt bike riding instead. Sounded like a good show
  5. Sled insurance is tied to the OAP. We have overlapping issues here. It’s not just the Occupiers Liability Act.
  6. We need to move past the we need to be like Quebec ideology. It simply can’t be done without substantial changes to laws and a complete reform and overhaul of how insurance is administered and the laws that go along with it. Snowmobiling in Ontario is not big enough to affect that kind of sweeping change.
  7. There are two ways to look at value, but In this case, the value provided from the permit is substantial.
  8. The pass is the absolute least expensive part of the cost of sledding. It’s not up for debate. And let that sink in next time you pull your helmet and goggle combo that cost twice as much as a pass to ride groomed trails anywhere they are open in a province the size of Ontario over your head.
  9. Insurance and the law in/around it is main thing holding that back. Those 2 things are not easy to just “change”, and unless they do, the system can’t do much. We can’t have what they, because we don’t have what they have.
  10. Not at all what it used to be. Don't forget social media stuff too, you don’t have to wait to see things, find deals etc. there is still a tonne of value in going and vendors to chat with/to, but it will never be like it used to be.
  11. Might go Sunday, hockey today and tomorrow, so no time
  12. No, they don't figure anything Their underwriting is plug and play - nothing outside of the box When you have rural properties, various equipment, motorsports equipment, etc., etc. etc. - you need to get with a good broker who KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING, who will work with good companies WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
  13. Most likely half the price for half the coverage. Price is only as good as the coverage. in 25 years, I don’t think I have gone to a claim where people were expecting to make one. you can opt out if you’re mortgage free.
  14. lol, don’t get me started on the fire hydrant situation!
  15. They are out of touch And in-case you haven't seen the news, TD ( banking side ) has been taking it on the chin quite a bit lately. Expect rates to increase!
  16. Your sled policy is and always has been an auto policy. Only one that exists in Ontario. Auto policies pay out on Actual Cash Value on the date/time of the loss unless you have a 43R and the vehicle qualifies for the 43R. The value they list on it is for rating purposes and has nothing to do with a "max" payout or anything like that.
  17. TD is the last place I would have my house with. Sled is all they will get.
  18. I review everything every year. We are year 2 with CAA as of September and house and cars actually went down just a tiny bit from the 1st year.
  19. My sled is still with TD. Renewal is Dec 1, will see. i moved everything else to CAA, being a 25+ year member got me a massive discount.
  20. that makes sense if you trade that often to not buy a left-over If you're looking to keep it 3-5 years - some great deals on left-overs out there The biggest thing for me is on the left-overs - how much has really changed - and are those changes worth the extra 3-5k? ( doubtful ) the sled has already taken the depreciation anyway - and thats on the manu - not me - so also a win

  22. I think you have 2 months to save the $50.00, they don’t have a cap/limit or are going to run out, so I think there is no urgency or panic to purchase. the only number that matters is the final one.
  23. The weather and areas allowed for local sledding in a lot of areas of the province. Those days are mostly gone We lived in Smithville ( I was not born yet ). A few neighbors rode and they were the conduit to getting my parents interested and riding My parents bought their first sleds in 1974. They have never not owned or had one since. One was a brand new 1974 -one was a slightly used 1972 version of the same sled. 2 sleds and a trailer - were AFFORDABLE! My parents would ride locally after work and on weekends with a trailer trip or 2 north each winter Sledding was one of the main reasons my parents bought property up north We've had it sooooo good for so long - so i think that is why I struggle with dealing with the changes in weather, trails closing, ease of access etc.: I hate change
