  1. OH YEAH! Lots of stuff have shown up @ 3 weeks for the last several months. (does NOT include any customs! Don't send cookies my way! The microbes will have already taken care of them before they git here! .. and I have no idea why our mail is going through Detroit in the first place...
  2. Well, it didn't go through Detroit then!
  3. I am actually surprised at the % of the recoils that folks are buying for the old Zx chassis sleds of '99/'03. These are still out there in force!
  4. I can't bring myself to buy a tag with a closed border. My $400 can towards fuel to go west in stead.
  5. I'm gunna say that "it happened" because it was NOT organized. Everything outdoors has boomed this year! Boats, bikes, even guns for some reason? Likely stimulus money, and "not going on vacation" this year. When sumpthing gits "organized" - then there is an at-risk entity that has the power (or the civic duty to?) turn the key off - like the OFSC did this March. If it's not organized, then the folks that are putz's can stay on the porch, and the others can carry on as they see fit. Like the DA Mich Gov tried to say that "Y'all kan't go fishin'. It jist t'aint safe." I am just in awe that the rest of the DA's (derogatory remark) decided it best to storm the bloody Capital building - as opposed to ... just go fishin' anyhow. And if it's jist them on the lake, and it's jist too risky to have DNR patrols out - then I guess they can take a case of beer out there with the too. But no - they decided there was a better time to be had in Lansing. DA's! Must be what's left of the Michigan Militia I guess.... Oh ... maybe this post should be in the "rant" thread?
  6. I haven't been a trail rider in 20 years, and I haven't done the east side south of Cochrane, but I would have to say that I would find D trail from The Soo to Nippigon the best place to be - for me. Much of that length isn't open many of the years, and I really can't say how many times it's ever been open all the way through. Prolly not since 2000? Also - I'm sure that if it does get open, it likely won't be in the best shape, but that's prolly 700 klicks of the best terrain that I know of.
  7. HR will likely not rust as quick. Either way tho - I'd go heavier if that's an option, and I wouldn't know why it wouldn't be. .
  8. Cad is a very expensive and seldom used process, let alone for hardware. You sure that you don't mean yellow zinc? "Yes - the mfgr used 1/8" profile alum and the bolts pulled through without a thought aboot it, but the bolts are fine..."
  9. Given the very light cross section of that alum frame, I kan't imagine a grade 2 bolt not being overkill as is...
  10. I'll have you note that _ that took me nigh-on an hour to put all down!
  11. I don't know aboot your side, but there has routinely been up to a 3 week delay in any US Male going through Detroit (in the name of Wuhan) so just hang tight a little longer....
  12. You know - this is normal reaction on message boards. A known, or even sometimes an even unkown member - comes on here, crying aboot some Joe Blow cheated, stole, wrecked, or whatever to/from him, and the masses all gather around him in a prayer vigil, b/c obviously he was victimized by a terrible and heartless person elsewhere out there in the werld.... Bill Cosby has a skit on this exact scenario, and how - when fighting with his wife - he had learned to cry first. Then run to the bathroom and lock the door - first... etc... etc... It's all aboot who cries first .... But let me play Devils Advocate for a bit here.... You clowns think that this Ski charactor is "a good fella". Just that ratt there has a "Made Man" ring to it eh? Well let me tell yuh a story aboot 2 very different "Ski's". Ski A: A) Was willing to invest his Yankee $ during bad times to buy a property in D-Ville during their worst days since they cleared the ground in 1960. Which helped to keep property values from plumenting even further... b) Is a good neighbor and tries to help the local economy as much as he can. C) He tries to git in before 11:00 at night as to not wake others. D) He isn't out "warming up" his machines at 0:Dark:30 in the morning either... E) To doo the repairs on his buildings, he would have his tank full and bring all materials with him, so's not to have any reason to stop in The Soo as he rolls through. (Safety first!) F) His wife works in the health care field, and understands totally aboot the safety required for their time there. Now that is the Ski that y'all think that your are conversing with, BUT, let me tell you aboot Ski B! Ski B: A) Waited like a flock of buzzards circling a fella wondering aimlessly out accrost the desert (not the type that goes after supper, but rather that sandy region) until prices bottomed out - in a northern lumber town, to where he could pick up something - for nigh-on nothing! b) Brings his own groceries and can seldom be found at Pats Resto. C) Seldom git's in before 2AM on weeknights, and rolls in with loud cans whoopin' it up and down the center street before heading home... D) Well, no - he doesn't git up at before Dawns butt crack, but when they doo git up and around, they are still so juiced up from "last night" that they can routinely be found heading out on their snowmachines still in their jammies, untill the everclear starts wearing off and they high-tale it back to git some bibs on... E) He will bring everything that he needs to doo repairs, although he will be driving right past Lyons Timber Mart in The Soo, all to save a few Loonies... F) His wife works in the health care field, and unless he comes alone after 2 weeks of living at his folks' house, who knows what he could be bringing up with him! But let me add: G) He's not riding Canuck iron! Let me tell yuh aboot a trip that I made to Mich just before this Woohan thing went Bat Shiite crazy.... Me and Mamma schlepped up to Mt. Pleasant back in what - Feb? to see Christopher Cross and America. A bit AFTER the light go out, in comes a whole crew of loud mouths the next row back. VERY disturbing and a wee bit inebriated. Everyone around was biting their tongues, but finally I yelled to shut up, but that didn't change a thing. They said that "this is a concert!" Christopher Cross, not AC/DC! That's not a 4-high stack of Marshals up there, and Chris is terribly underspoken and apparently so is his sound guy... I even went to complain to the "Security", but they obviously only got paid to wear the suit, and had absolutely no intention of getting involved with drunks! At least America had better pipes! H) I'm not sure, but that could EASILY have been Ski and his wife (by far the worst!) and their groupies, but I'm not 100% sure... But he ride a Cat and he's from Michigan, so - you doo the math .... So tell me, given the evidence, what makes you clowns think that this Joker is "Ski A"? What evidence have you got? It all boils down to the perspective that you look at the situation from. .
  13. For Petey's sakes Ski, how much did you pay him to come to that collusion?
  14. Oh, your sleds are up there too eh? I have one in the bush that I want to git, but it's not a big loss. Not planning on running it this winter anyhow, but still want to fetch it home... But at least we have enough iron here to head west.
  15. Well, the farmer in me says that with last winter being so warm, and this summer being so hot, our heating degree days will be shot in the assets soon, and we will likely git into a cold cycle for a while again. The only wildcard is that cold spring that we had thrown in there .... ??? .
  16. Well, y'all may not be going south, but we may not be going N either. I may be looking at 24 hours west more than once. That drive is good for once / year...
  17. What does Bat Flu have to doo with land owner issues? Play me connect the dots...
  18. Ox

    Legal help

If so (and you are likely quite right) maybe you should hang a sign on the groomer or at the entrance to the trail that trail maint costs are incurred by trail pass revenue. .
  19. I'm not following this? Where does synthetic come into the subject per the fitting? Shirley the zerk will take dino grease - no? I've never used one of those fancy covers to actually grease anything. I think they just lay it beside the outside bearing? A good design would have a grease zerk sticking right out he end of the axle, with a cross hole between the two bearings, but I don't know if anyone makes that style or not? I really don't mess with trailer bearings all too often. However - I doo make many shafts for commercial tensioners that ARE greased in the way that I said.
  20. "Steal your helmet" LOL! Not like on mine! I have been gobbling up a certain old Lazer helmet anytime I find one in my size on ebay. Mine was worn and I forgot it hanging on the headache rack of my truck in the dark one night in Wyoming. Tried on a few new ones that next fall, and couldn't seem to pull them down far enough? Ended up I hated the one that I bought, and - that's when I started searching for clean/used units like my old one. I have a stash now, but not likely anyone is too concerned about a 25 yr old helmet. Not like I park anywhere that has people usually anyhow ....
  21. .... when it worked ....
  22. Well, that truck actually has a lever, it's the hub lock-outs that would have been "old skewl" in this case...
