But ruin the planet....lol   I think I would first see what warranty they have on these sorts of things, then likely try one easier fix, an epoxy of sorts that is designed for gas like JB, if it works, bonus, if not, move on and buy a new one.

What happened to the days of some split gas or oil on our gear, smelling like a dirty garage and a 2-stroke that burned way more oil than they do today.....was that so bad....

I have used Gorilla tape for making under water repairs on my rink liner and its worked really well - applying on wet/dirty and held up. Might be worth a shot - applying on both sides if you can
