Faceman Posted January 26, 2011 Share Posted January 26, 2011 Two CP Rail trains have collided causing a massive derailment on tracks in the township of Severn. As many as 90 cars have been pushed off their rails, near Upper Big Chute Rd. and Severn Bridge, roughly 50 kilometres northwest of Orillia. The head-on crash happened around 4 a.m. By 6 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police had not heard of any injuries related to the collision, but Const. Peter Leon did know that grain had spilled from some of the cars. Leon said that it was too early to tell if any hazardous material was leaking from the wreck. "At first light, we'll have a better idea of how big of an area has been affected," he said. Coldwater/Severn Falls - SMART S.C B105 CLOSED due to 90 Car Train Derailment in Severn Falls.
