flash 800
Thanks, dumb question. If there's one in the lodge that would be fine too. TV is normally not a priorty until it comes to hockey.
revrnd
Remember - when sledding north on TOP trail (after you pass exit to T-C-P), turn left at road. We had a hard time picking up the trail. Go along side of road for about 100 metres, then into gulley beside road for another 100 metres. Up again, and across road to rejoin the trail. Basically, LEFT AT ROAD. We saw where the Trail Closed signs were placed. Are they trying to cut a new trail there or is that an existing section of trail that they closed? After reading the differing comments about the lodge we didn't know what to expect. Yes, while the owners may not be as overly friendly as some hosts you may have dealt w/ in your travels, we had no complaints about TCP. The rooms were very clean & the meals were great. Later in our trip we spoke to 5 or 6 guys who had stayed there & they enjoyed it as well.
flash 800
they had cut a new trail this past fall so they could bypass the road but didn't get enough snow to cover everything so they just used the road again this year. We enjoyed our stay at TCP this past weekend. Zero complaints, great hospitality and in a very talkative mood. Gas was cheap to at $1.20.
revrnd
They'd be glad to see the business. They said we were the 1st sledders to stay. They had only had 10 sledders in for gas before us.
flash 800
they hadn't had much business this year. There was a group of 4 staying there the night we were there. Likely will be the busiest night of the season for them now.
SlowTouringGuy
We stayed there in '08. Dick told us that the winter before they had a total of 6 guests for overnight. Not sure how many others they may have had for gas stops or lunch...... but 6 overnight for the season and now this year? Hopefully they get a much better crowd for hunting season and for the summer and will continue to keep the doors open in the winter. Unfortunately, it is this sort of attendance that caused the Laurentian Lodge to decide, a couple of years ago, that they would switch to be a three season resort. A shame; it was a great sled stop !!
flash 800
Been to Laurentian Lodge too, that place kicks butt. What a beautiful place. It was a real shame to find out they shut er down for the winter.
