Top D Trout Creek?

We rode the Top D north to Trout Creek on Friday. Does anyone know how to get north of Trout Creek? The trail just seemed to end there and we weren't sure how to get back on it. It even looked like the groomer turned around there and headed back south.

We are looking to do a tour in Feb and wanted to head North to North Bay using the Top D, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The trail to the north is South Shore #700, TOP D goes SW from Trout Creek (according to the NNTA map). Maybe you contact them @:

Hey, Wannago...I've been told that the section of "D" trail between Trout Creek and NN 440 won't be open at all this year, and the trouble with the local club trail (# SSR700) suggested as an option is that it is miles of road running, which could be problematic if there's been a meltdown and/or mild weather. The other alternative is to take C105D west from "D" through South River to club trail # NN440, and then head northeast back to "D"...adds some distance, but typically a much better ride and less risky than # 700. NN430 (lake trail running north up Eagle Lake from C105D) is another option which leads to 440 and then back to "D".

Good luck.

Thanks for the update. We talked today about heading up on the C trail. We will be leaving from Burks Falls so we can easily take the 700 series into Magnetewan and catch the C trail there up to the NN440. Thanks again for the info.

The shortest route is that road based trail from Trout Creek to Powassan on the west side of Hwy 11, but that's a lot of road if conditions aren't perfect. Next alternative is to head northwest from South River to Restoule, then back east to North Bay . Nice ride, but it takes you some distance out of your way. The 'dead zone' continues to be Chisolm Township on the east side of Hwy 11, where there apparently is no benefit to the area from snowmobilers (according to Chisolm Council).

That is the route we are now thinking of, we aren't in any hurry. We are planning on leaving on a Sunday and don't have to be back in Burks Falls until the following Friday or Saturday. Have never done the RAP tour but that is what we would like to do. Lots of time to figure out a route, we aren't planning on going until the week of Feb 16.

If anyone has done the RAP Tour leaving from Burks Falls and has any ideas or suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.
