Black Dog
We rode around Port Severn Jan 26 / 27 and at the time the trails were good but you could tell there was not enough snow to survive the rain that happened a few days later. Sorry can't give you current condition but my opinion would be that they would need more snow.
02Sled
Rode from the top end of Six Mile on Sunday. The trail had enough snow for lube and cooling but your back would be feeling the pain unless you are an exception. A lot of wash board dips dives etc. Just can't go very fast. MacTier got a real healthy dumping on Sat (40 cm) but when you get north of there it thins out again.
Yukon
Its limited conditions , certainly don't have the snow we would like. Its good lake running from Port Severn. We are hoping the forecasted snow will help our cause.
b-bry
According to the predictions every day, the Parry Sound area got at least 6" since Sunday. Unfortunately, there's nowhere on the EnviroCda or Weather Channel websites that show what actually fell. Sometimes the predictions are (for sledders) optimistic or (for non-sledders) alarmist. Anyone up near Parry Sound (WB?) care to comment on this week's snowfall?
Wildbill
only about 15cm since sunday but grooming has commenced on the more level trails
KW Mike
Thanks for the info guys, just got in from riding Port Sydney to Sprucdale and back. Dropped at the Ultramar on 11, 160 k for the day, conditions were not too bad, a couple of inches over night gave us a little powder to keep things cool. Trails were in good shape for the amount of snow they have. Only 10 or so other sleds out there so it was a quiet day. The guys who look after this area are doing a great job, nothing new though. Man it was cold, minus 18 and a little windy at 9.30 this morning. We rode North Bay a couple of weekends ago, with minus temps in the 20's and it seemed colder today. Gas at $1.12 south of Gravenhurst, a buck-30 back here in Kitchener. I'm hoping for some snow for the Port Severn Parry Sound area, son wants to ride this area in a couple of weeks when he is off school, might need a rental from you Wild Bill. All in all a good day on the trails.
